This has been a rough week.

Tala got very sick and almost died. She is in the vet hospital and it's costing us an arm and a leg. She should get better but we will have to plunge ourselves right back into debt to pay for her bill.

Then we had to pay for our new more expensive Preschool. Nora's safe there and that's all that matters but it did put an additional strain on our already broken budget.

And then yesterday when I went to go pick Nora up from school, the car's tire was flat so we have to probably buy another new tire (3rd one this month!) AND I was 25 minutes late picking Nora up and they charge a dollar a minute when you are late.

On top of top of that I misread the calendar (must have been looking at a different month) and scheduled a payment to come out of my account 2 days before my paycheck so we got a bounced check fee at the bank.

*sigh* This has been a horrible horrible week for money.

Oh and also Doug is now throwing a fit about the money I am having to spend on Tala and he is saying he never agreed to me getting her in the first place which is BS because he did agree to it. So on top of all the worry and stress about the horse- I am royally PO'ed at my husband.

Please pray that my sanity survives this week intact...

I just gave the vet a check- Ugh and then it turns out the tire that got punctured couldn't be saved. But in the long run we'll be okay- it'll just take 3-4 months to get back to the point we were supposed to be at this month. Thank goodness for us both being employed!

Diane- Well earlier this month one of our tires shredded on the interstate and the other tire was about to go, so we bought 2 used tires which are in good condition, then I drove over a piece of metal somewhere and it punctured. I am HOPING they will be able to repair it.

It looks like we will be tight but okay- especially if I can cut some corners on food etc for a while. I just cancelled my organic egg deliver ($9 a month) and we try to be frugal in other ways but I am going to unplug my dryer and everything is going to be laid out on a clean blanket in the back yard if needed!

Alee, sending prayers and hugs your way. I am so glad that Tala is doing better and that Nora has a new school. Money is the root of all evil. Can you barter some cleaning or yard work to the vet for part of the bill? It never hurts to ask. What is up with 3 flat tires? Can they possibly be repaired? I work at a service garage and we try to fix them first then replace. I hope things start looking up for you. It can be so stressful when money problems arise.

Alee-I'm glad that Tala is feeling better and may she continue to heal. Men are weird about money--I've never been married but know all about how stressed men can get over money. When I was sick last month, I didn't know I had to fill out paperwork to get paid for my sick days (a new work policy). I finally got the forms and my dr. filled them out and I returned them to HR today. But I probably won't see the money till my next paycheck (another two weeks). So I missed paying a bill this month and today my bank charged me some fees for something that wasn't my fault. I called the bank and they dropped one of the fees, but I've had it with them. But---it will get better. I can eat less (need to anyway LOL) and save money that way. I find that doing yoga helps to alleviate the stress. Plus I feel better physically when I do it. And as long as I have my health, I feel pretty lucky. You're doing what's best for Nora and for Tala, and that's what's important. But it can feel overwhelming at times. Saying a prayer for you...

Thanks ladies! I told Doug what I thought of his attitude this morning as we were walking into work and avoided him all day because I was pretty steamed. Tonight he was much more gentle about my feelings on the subject. We polietly agreed to disagree on the subject. He's blowing a lot of steam about it but the truth of the matter is that I run the budget and it will be my job to fix the problem one way or another by managing other expenses so we'll get there...

Alee, I am so sorry you're having such a bad week. I know what it's like. We had ours last week. And the week before that. It seems to be bad alot. My hubby and I had some of our worst arguments over money. And I am so depressed when we don't have any. Even if I have a few dollars I am ok.

I will be praying ya'll will get out of this hole soon and back to normal.

Hugs, Kris

Thank you ladies! Good news- Tala is getting better! The vet said she is eating and drinking since yesterday which is great sine a horse that won't eat or drink is a dead horse. As for the rest- we'll just have to slog through I guess!

Praying for you, Alee. It does seem like financial hardships all come at the same time which makes it super hard. The emotions are just flared due to the stress you're feeling. Give it all to God. Grab a moment to breathe. Possibly talk w/the preschool where Nora goes & tell them about the tire situation & see if they can extend some grace on this occasion. Re: your tires, some places (like Costco) give free tire repairs when you buy their tires. That might be something to look into when you call about finding a tire & see if that's part of their deal.

Alee, lots of prayers to you.

I hope that things quiet down for you and that things will get better.

I had to shell out 150 dollars for enrollment, 250 dollars for books, and the first payment is due Aug 1st for my daughter's school. It hurts. And this is just Kindergarden. But in the long run, it will be ok.

Lots of prayers of comfort for you.

I pray for peace in your house today. I pray that God would show Himself to you this week in ways you never expected! I pray that Tala would be well & no more vet bills, your tires would last, & your husband would feel the peace & act accordingly. I pray that God would replace your insanity with the peace that passes all understanding. Keep us posted!
