Hello Fellow Sisters, *******UPDATE******
Please say a special prayer tonight for the family of Michaela. She lost her battle to cancer yesterday and has gone on to be with our Heavenly Father. She leaves behind a wonderful husband Jason, and 3 beautifullittle girls Madison 6yrs old, Megan 4 yrs old and Moriah 2 yrs old.
I pray that they will be able to feel God's healing touch during this difficult time.
Thank you,
Laurie
I am asking for some special prayers tonight. The prayers are for a young girl (just 30 years old) who has cancer. Her name is Michaela. I met Michaela several months ago in Boston, at a "conference" for people with Mesothelioma( a form of Lung Cancer caused by asbestos). I was there with my dad who is battling this disease at the age of 72. When we first gathered in the conference room, my eyes scanned the room looking at everyone. When I saw Michaela, I thought for sure she too must be there with a parent. She looked perfectly healthy. I later came to find out that SHE has Mesothelioma, which they believe she got simply from her father coming home with asbestos on his clothing when she was a little girl. She was there with her husband and mother in law. She sat there chatting with all of us passing around pictures of her 3 adorable daughters, all under the age of 6, who were back home in Iowa. We quickly became like extended family to the other families who spent that week in Boston- in search of hope at the International Mesothelioma Clinic there. We have made 4 trips there, and Michaela actually had her lung removed about 9 weeks ago. Things were looking good for her, after spending 7 weeks in Boston away from her children. She went home to Iowa on June 30th. Within a week, she was in the hospital there, with what seemed like an infection and blod clots. In a matter of days they discovered that she has cancer on her other lung, her liver and in her stomach. Today the doctors told her she will not get better. My heart aches for this young mother of 3. It is simply unimaginable what she must be feeling and going through. SO, I ask you all to please say a prayer for Michaela that she is comfortable in her time of pain, and that God will Bless her and her family to find the strength to endure whatever lies ahead for them. I am hoping she will feel all of our prayers.
Amen,
Laurie

Laurie...Prayers for Michaela's family and to yours. Those poor little babies and her husband have such trials ahead so I pray for Gods power to envelope them and cover them with whatever they need to continue without her.

Blessings and Peace,

Prayers out to your friend and her family. How tragic, I am so sorry. These kind of things really test our faith.
