My uncle is in bad shape. They said he has a 50/50 chance and they aren't sure what is going on for sure. Please, his name is Ted Clephane. Thank you so much.

I have been so busy with my family and gardens and my aunts gardens I was unable to post any thing. Today my job on my aunts gardens has ended. My uncle came home! He still has a long way to go, but he is home! He is in a hospital-style bed in the living room, but he is much happier now. My aunt used to be a nurse, so she can handle takin care of him and her oldest daughter lives with her, so she said she will take over on the gardens and chickens. She is a cna, so she will be a big help as well. The doctors are now expecting a complete recovery even though they can't explain it! Thank you all so much for the prayers!

I just found out that the tests for his kidneys and liver came back at over 80% function today! They said his colon has begun functioning agian as they had to clean up 2 messes. I know, gross, but it's a good sign. He is beginning to wake up a lot more and they think the incision is healing very well. They call his room the 'miracle room'! It's answered prayers! We could have him home in a few weeks! And he will be coming home whole!

I have an update on my uncle. His kidneys and his colon are now functioning at about half power. The Dr says with proper diet and some medication it could be okay. They couldn't completely close the drain inciscion, but they covered it with a graft. The most of the infection was from muscle that had to be removed and now has to regrow. They still say it's touch and go with him, but it's a long uphill road and it's gonna be slow going. The prayers are definitely helping since the doctors tell us every day 'We'll see how things are tomorrow' whenever we ask for any predictions on his recovery. My DH says that's dr-speak for 'we don't know why he's still here in the first place, we don't know when he'll get better!' So we're taking every day we get to talk to him from the door as a blessing from God. If things go okay, we'll be allowed to start going in the room in 3 more days! Keep up all the prayers girls they're working! Thank you all so much!

Siobhan, That was indeed a touching prayer. IT is true, God does know all and uses it all towards the good. I am also praying, but mine are not as eloquent. May your uncle find health and peace.

Siobhan: what a wonderful prayer! As I read your prayer, I knew it came right from the heart. Thank you.

I have an update. It's not good. My uncle's colon and kidneys are functioning at the absolute minimum. They weren't able to do any surgeries to help, his body won't take it. They were unable to close the first open incision due to the infection. They really don't expect much for him. My aunt has asked that prayers for him be for his healthy return or his peaceful passing. He would be miserable in a vegetative state with a colostomy bag and on dialysis for the rest of his life. He's already outlived what they gave him when he had a brain bleed years ago. They said 2 years max and he's lived 10 years since then! If we hear anymore I'll update again. Thank you all.

I am home again. I was posting from the hospital all night. My uncle had an aortic anuerism. They closed it, then had to open his stomach area to remove a large amount of blood. The doctor decided to leave the second insicion open so it could be better monitored. That means no visitors in the room. He was semi-conscious this morning and told my aunt to go home and rest. My aunt isn't leaving of course, but the rest of the family did to deal with their own families. We are organizing a rotation schedule to take up food and money daily to keep her going. They didn't expect him to make it through the night last night at all. They came in this morning with a list of specialists and appt times as well as scheduling his surgery to close him up in 3 days. My DH said that is typical of hospitals if they don't expect good, they wait before scheduling everything, so things are looking better since they have done this. We are just waiting for now.
