Posted - Apr 15 2010 : 7:44:12 PM Okay, my friends, guess I'm having a bad year. After all the respiratory illness I had the last few months, I hoped not to have to see a doctor for a long time. However, last fall I had a baseline mammogram and was told to repeat it in six months. Several mammograms and ultrasounds later, I find myself now very sore from having a biopsy and very, very, very scared as I await the results. So, if you are saying your prayers tonight, could you include me? I am scared for myself, and for my little family. I should know something tomorrow, or Monday.

Posted - Apr 18 2010 : 10:47:26 AM Nicole, I know it's impossible not to worry but keep just remind yourself that the odds are in your favor. The vast majority of biopsies come back normal, so just hold on to that hope!!! My mom walked the same path you are on and all was well in the end. I too have had the 6 month schedule for mammograms for a while only to find that nothing was wrong after all. In attempting to take care of us, they sure can scare us, right?!? Sending big ol' hugs and prayers your way!!

Posted - Apr 18 2010 : 08:52:31 AM Great news! Now use that scare to remind you to do breast self-exams and get regular mammograms, things we often let slide, and remind your friends and loved ones to do the same. Yes, cancer can often be beatable, there are a lot of us survivors out here but I'm so glad things came out well for you! Susan

Posted - Apr 17 2010 : 4:34:22 PM Oh Nicole I am so HAPPY for you!!! My best friend went through the breast cancer thing with chemo and radiation and it was a very long road. She has been cancer free for 8 years now so I know it is beatable. I am so glad that you won't have to go down that road. Let's all do the dance of joy.
Blessings, Sheri

Posted - Apr 17 2010 : 4:30:05 PM Hi My Dear Friends..
I am Okay!!!! The doctor that did the biopsy called me on my cell this afternoon with the good news that it is benign!! He called me from home, and said he knew I was worried. He is a family man, with children our daughter's age, and I am so grateful that he took the time to give me the news! The wait is over! I tell you, I have a new lease on life!!! I am blessed, I know. Thank you all again, for waiting with me, and all the wonderful emails and posts, and thank you for your prayers! I read your posts to my DH last night and you girls brought my big guy to tears. We ladies can never be truly alone or lonely with the Sisterhood around! Hugs to you all!

Posted - Apr 16 2010 : 5:32:35 PM I'm praying for you, too Nicole! I am a midwife, and I practice gynecolgy. Sometimes it is hard to get a really, realy good picture of what is going on in the breast. I have a small practice compared to an OB- gyn, but ALL of my clients who have gome through all the testing you have gome through, have come back normal. Hopefully, you will fall right into that pattern and all will be well. ~ Mary LD

Posted - Apr 16 2010 : 07:27:37 AM Sending up some prayers for you Nicole!
Father, please give Nicole peace as she waits for the results of her tests. Let her know that she is held so tightly in Your arms and that it's going to be all right. We pray for a favorable report and that soon she will be able to breathe a big sigh of relief! Help her to trust in You when she doesn't know what to do and shower her with your unfailing love. In Jesus' name, AMEN!
