Posted - Apr 14 2010 : 12:27:49 PM I came to this forum today to ask for prayer for an issue I'm having with my car. But I decided to check the other threads first to see who I might be able to pray for. There are so many of you who have "real", life-altering issues or know someone who does and I've spent time in prayer for you today. Thank you for sharing your needs and allowing us to lift you up and thanks, too, for giving me some perspective. My problem hasn't gone away but it sure is a lot smaller.

Posted - Apr 22 2010 : 12:08:43 PM Well, I finally got my car back today. It wasn't cheap but wasn't as horrible as it could have been. Originally they thought the whole transmission needed replaced. But it was just very dirty and needed a new ignition switch. So all in all, we aren't too bad off. The money I had set aside for other projects will grow again and I can make-do with the other things that aren't as pressing. It drives my husband nuts when I say "even though we had other plans for that money - at least we had it." It's become customary for us to have a car problem when we have a financial blessing of any size. I guess I should tell him that he should be happy that "even though we had other plans for that money the bill/need wasn't bigger than our supply." Thanks again for the prayers and perspective!! God is good, all the time. All the time, God is good.

Posted - Apr 14 2010 : 8:02:32 PM Its amazing how a simple visit to the forum can give us some perspective. Its a great place to be. I hope the car issue passes quickly. I'm with annika - I think farmgirls will certainly grow stronger from everything we are facing right now. That's why the forum is so important. It a) gives us support and friendship from people who understand and b) helps us to gain persepctive. Someone is always going through something...and sometimes its just what we need to hear. Does that make sense?

Posted - Apr 14 2010 : 3:54:14 PM Angela, I really think that as farmgirls, we , in particular, will grow under these hard times and come out the stronger for our trials. Thank you for sharing the little story , I worry too much about money, when I'm truly blessed to be as well off as I am. Thank you.

Posted - Apr 14 2010 : 3:41:23 PM We are having car issues as well. Money is so tight and I was beginning to really get down. I got my perspective re-adjusted for me. I was complaining about it and a little girl overheard. She offered to take me to her daddy. She said he could use the money to buy seeds so they could plant a garden cause her mommy said if they didn't they wouldn't make it this year. I wanted to cry. I gave her every dollar I had and told her to buy lots of seeds for her mommy. I had to leave before I broke down! I was supposed to get my girls take out for dinner, instead I made spaghetti and not a soul complained about it that night. We all are so blessed!

Posted - Apr 14 2010 : 12:53:03 PM Hi Stacy - I will pray for your car issues to pass in a positive way. After just coming out of a month long car issue myself, I know how disheartening it can be. It may not seem as serious as a health issue, but if it's your only mode of transportation, and money is tight, it can seem so overwhelming.
Blessings, Sheri
