Posted - Jan 08 2010 : 1:58:43 PM Please pray for my family that they are comforted with the Lord's grace. Mom passed away last night after a long illness with renal failure. She had struggled for months of pain and discomfort. She told us this was no way to live your life. She believed the quality of your life was more important than the quanity. On New's Year Eve mom made the vital decision to discontinue dialysis. It has been a heck of a week. Patient's coming off of diaysis can only survive 2 to 10 days. We were blessed and privilidge to spend her last days at home surrounded by her loved ones. She slipped away very peacefully with her family by her side.
God Bless gerri

Posted - Jan 11 2010 : 1:39:55 PM Thank you for all your prayers. Mom was laid to rest today. I know that she is at peace and resting with the Lord. She lived a good life always surrounded by her daughters and grandchildren which were the whole focus of her life. She instilled wonderful morals, values and traditions that will never leave our hearts. Her legacy will always live within us. We will begin to put our lives back together and bring normalicy to what has been a difficult time for all of us.
Always know that life is very precious regardless of any circumstances. Hold true to your heart what you love!
Peace, gerri

Posted - Jan 09 2010 : 2:23:06 PM Prayers for your family, Gerri. My mom is a nurse in a dialysis facility, so I know how hard it is for someone to just see a person get to that point where they just don't want to live the dialysis life anymore. It's hard to let them go when you know they can choose to continue. I'm sorry that you lost your mom. *hugs* |
