We lost our home and pretty much everything in it tonight due to a fire. Which includes my computer, so I have no clue when I will be back on . Please kep us all in prayer! I love you all and wish you all a Merry Christmas!

Thank you so much for prayers, thoughts, cards, calls, and what wonderful farmgirl family I have! I love you all and I appreciate each an everyone of you. I came to a friends house and was able to get on to get this message to you. Please continue to keep us in prayers as we wait to hear from insurance to find out what what they will do. hello. i am Karens daughter. we have a fund open at united bank for donations you can donate at any untied bank just tell them that u want it to go to the finchers and they will do it. we have recieved some clothes but still need some more. if u have any questions or concerns or would like to speak with Karen feel free to call me at 678-588-3251.(Meagan by the way lol). The thing that tugged at my heart was a thread I read the other day from Karen to another farmgal, and she said she was praying for that family because they had just had a house fire on the 17th, I think it was. Then to turn around, 4 days later, and it happened to her. WOW! Blew me away!

Even in her terrible situation, true to her sweet, gracious spirit, Karen asked after my sister (I have posted about her, I am her caregiver) and her hubby and how they are doing.
Now is that selfless or what?!?!?!?! WOW!!!
And, Karen's sense of humor is intact!!! We have cried together on the phone, but we have laughed!! I'm thankful for that!!!!
THANK YOU ALL FARMGIRLS FOR YOUR RESPONSE . . it has been TRUE to who you all are!!!! Words cannot express it!!!

Hey Farmgirls!!
I talked with Karen again this morning . . . she said that sending WALMART GIFT CARDS is a GOOD idea. She does go shop at the one in the town 15 miles away regularly.
She also said that all one has to do is call the bank and ask to transfer funds into the benefit account. IF YOU WANT THAT PHONE NUMBER EMAIL ME.
She will try to find out if . . . and how . . one can donate to her PayPal (through her Etsy shop) and will call me back with that info later today.
They are doing okay and are getting MARVELOUS support from their community. She will be working with their insurance adjuster this morning in just a few minutes . . said they'd be busy for a while.
I hope this helps you Farmgirls more with knowing how to help.
She also said to tell all of you "THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! SHE LOVES YOU . . . EVERYONE!!!!

I was able to talk with Karen this morning. If you are able to, read my post on the first page of this thread & you'll see some suggestions for how to help them right now.
Your response asking for her address, etc. has been AWESOME!!! I know how it feels to be where she is and I know how it feels to have people reach out and help.

Hey Farmgirls!!
I just talked to Karen on the phone. They are okay . . able to stay at her mom's house who lives across the street.
My hubby and I have gone through this exact same thing . . . so I was able to offer her some suggestions about their recovery plan, going through the insurance process, accepting offers for help, etc., etc.
IT IS OVERWHELMING!!! But you can get through it!!!!
If you are looking for suggestions for how you can help right now.
- They need clothes . . . got out of house with only what they were wearing.
- Karen needs a computer to set up to use at her mom's.
- She homeschools their boys and lost all their books . . so will
need those replaced.
CASH DONATIONS . . . or gift cards to places like Walmart . . are ALWAYS helpful.
I have her address if you need it . . . and I have her cell phone number.
Email me if there is anything else that I can do . .
