Please send prayers for my dad and family, he was guiding a hunt today in Montana and fell down a crevice 15 feet. They got him out carrying him on a board and to a hospital in Havre, then aero lifted to Great Falls Hospital. He has all but a few ribs broke, a collapsed lung, broken collarbone and shoulder and lower back compression. My mom just called and he was having trouble breathing so they just put him on a ventilator.

Mom is leaving in the morning from Florida to Montana. I'm in Michigan and trying to find a flight although I know there isn't a lot I can do...just a true "daddys girl" and only child not knowing which way to go right now...

turning to my farmgirl sis', prayers please

Melissa,
My dad was so dang determined to go hunting he left yesterday in 50+ mph winds. Nothing was going to stop him from getting to Colorado. He drives me and hubby nuts for a good two weeks prior! I'm so glad your dad is better, he sure had us all concerned. Maybe we should market those landing kits! He may not physically be able to hunt next month but, don't think for one minute he won't be right there with his grandkids boo-boos and all. You know for "moral support". We have a saying here about our logging trucks, they are such a pain sometimes that we say "you gotta love them" Well Dads.... "You Gotta LOVE Them"

Warm Wishes

Thank you everyone for all the prayers! Dad was released from the hospital yesterday and back at the ranch, still in Montana. My mom is still there taking care of him and his ever so fiesty attitude has returned! She'll be heading back to Florida soon but dad is going to stay on at the ranch to heal and wait for his grandkids (my kids) to head out there to hunt in November. I know in his mind he's thinking he'll be right there hunting with them but with the broken bones I doubt very much he will! This will take some time to heal but thank the good Lord he's a strong man! Jennifer, our dads sound alike! There's nothing my dad likes more than being in those mountains hunting! Now that his spirits are up, I've told him if he intends to do this sort of acrobatics again I will be getting him a parachute to wear and a blow up mattress for the landing! Farmgirl hugs to all and thank you again!!

Melissa, from one hunter's daughter to another I'm so sorry. My dad leaves next week for Colorado on an elk hunt, it's a scary two weeks. He's getting older and his knees are bad so I worry while he's gone but, I do know there isn't a place on earth he loves more or an activity that makes his smile any bigger. Your dad will be healed up soon and ready to head back up the mountain in no time. Until then your family will be in my thoughts and prayers!

Warm Wishes
