A little 10 year old girl has come up missing in a town just a few miles from me. She was walking 4 blocks home from her friends and never made it. This is a very small town - about 1200 residents I believe and the route between her friend and her house is right past the police station. Please say a prayer for this family that she comes home safe and sound.

I've been following this story on Nancy Grace. It makes me SO MAD when someone takes a child or hurts a child!! I pray that her and the other girl are found ok.

Yesterday, there was an attempted abduction of a 13 year old girl in Tumwater - a small town about 20 minutes from McCleary where Danielle disappeared. The police have suggested that there may be some connection between the two. The girl got away in this latest attempt and gave a description of the vehicle and the men to police. Let's hope this turns something up.

How horrible for her family. I definitely think her father could get special leave because of this. He'd never be able to do his job in Iraq with this weighing on his mind and heart. I can't even imagine the heartache for her family as the search parties begin to scale back, not knowing where she is or what has happened has to be killing them.

Sherri, I just saw this. Is there any more news on the girl? I have a 10 year old granddaughter. I would be crazy by now if anything happened to her. How awful.

Oh my, not the news I had hoped for. I can't imagine what this poor family is going through. Thanks for posting the news site. I will check it out. If there are any flyers us farmgirls could help pass out in our communities let us know. Seems like truck stops are a good place to start posting them if they aren't already there.

Oh my, the poor Dad. He would never be able to concentrate on what he is suppose to do in Iraq, I hope he will not have to go. Mom needs him for support as well.

Sadly, there is no news at all. Her mom and dad appeared on the Early show yesterday, appealing for any info that anyone might have. Her birthday was July 7 and they were really hoping she would have been home by then. Her dad is in the military and is set to deploy to Iraq and wants to have some news before deployment of course. I would think he could get an exemption or something under the circumstances! The active search has been scaled way back now, and the operation unit has moved from the small town where it happened to the county seat.

Oh that is so sad and scary! I worry about that already with Nora! I can't imagine the heartbreak the parents must feel and the poor kids! Oh I can't even imagine what they feel- I would never stop crying.

I've thought a lot about Elizabeth Smart during this ordeal and how she was found alive. The police have come out today and stated that they are almost certain she was abducted by someone she knew well. That's almost worse than a stranger I think.

Day 5 today and still no sign of her. The news today said they have brought in an expert in missing children who says most likely it had to be someone who knew her that picked her up. Today they are searching near my house and it's chilling to hear the planes overhead. We live at the base of a wooded hill and I think they must be concentrating on those woods today. Hope grows dimmer each day, but please keep this little one in your prayers til we know what happened to her.
