Just wanted to let you all know that your prayers have been working! Dad's starting to feel better and stronger, and even drove himself to dialysis on Saturday :)

Unfortunately, dad is still in a lot of pain, and is now on a catheter because he can't empty his bladder on his own. He had to leave dialysis early again yesterday because of the pain. Please continue to lift him up in your prayers

Mom took him to the ER because he was having such horrible hip pain that he couldn't walk. They did an xray, didn't see any obvious reason for the pain, BUT the xray revealed an aneurysm in his abdomen. He has to get further tests done on the aneurysm to see if it can be surgically removed, and also is seeing an ortho doc for the hip. Dad said that the hip pain comes and goes, but now he'll be fine one minute and then vomiting the next. He's not on any prescription pain meds right now, so it can't be the meds causing the nausea.

I also want to knock my mom on the head! They have over 1 1/2 acre yard, the riding mower broke, so mom got out there and mowed with the push mower(non self propelled!) today. She's 73 1/2 yrs old and doesn't need to be out there mowing....grrrrrrr! Yes I yelled at her and so did my brother for not calling us to come mow the yard for her and dad. Anyway, my brother is going over there in the morning to fix the riding mower, and I'm going to take dad to dialysis so mom gets a bit of a break.

So if you could pray for dad and mom I'd appreciate it.

Bless her heart....I just love my mom to pieces, but with all that's going on is a bit forgetful. I talked to her and she says "You were there when the doctor said they found cysts all over his kidneys on the MRI, weren't you?" No mom, I wasn't! Also, dad is unable to empty his bladder on his own, which really concerns me since he's already on dialysis 3 days a week. Please continue to keep dad and mom in your prayers.

They did a CT scan and MRI on dad since he had 3 morphine shots and that didn't stop his pain. He just got released to go home a few minutes ago. They gave him pain meds and he has to follow up with his regular doc and then with the hip specialist. At least the scan & MRI didn't show anything ominous.

Thanks so much for all of your prayers! Please continue to pray that dad's pain goes away soon.

I took dad to dialysis @ 5am. Dialysis center called me at 8:15am, said dad was in too much pain to finish dialysis. Went back to the center to get him and then took him straight to the ER. They did a CT scan and said they believe he's got sciatica(which is what I told dad I thought it was). The ER doc said the aneurysm is small and not pressing on sciatic nerve, so that was good news at least. They had to cath dad because his bladder was full to the point of bursting. That's most likely because he didn't complete dialysis. They're not going to admit him for now.

Diana,

I am praying for your Dad and Mom too. It sounds like your Mom may have been mowing (not so much to have it done) to take her mind off things. I'm glad that you and your brother stepped in. Please keep us updated.

Diana, Your father is in my thoughts and prayers. I have to admire your mom's pluck. I think I will probably be the same way when I am that age!

Diana, your Mom and Dad will be first in my prayers tonight. I understand your frustration with your mom getting out there mowing grass with a push mower! She sounds so determined. Like us,in her mind she is probably thinking that she can get it done and be just fine. I will pray for your mom and pray that your dads health problems will be resolved. God Bless. Tracy
