Today was a sad day for my parish--we said good-bye to our pastor who'd been battling cancer for the past seven months. We all know he's in a better place but that doesn't make the loss any easier. He was very supportive of me when I was dealing with a personal crisis. No one knows for sure what is going to happen next--the bishop was there and even he wasn't sure what the diocese would do next. Oh, the parish will go on, and the school as well, but it still feels sad--as a church member, you never expect to be burying your pastor, at least, not before he's retired. Please keep my church in your prayers as we go on through this difficult, transitional time. Pray that we don't forget we're all working for the same God--and the same good.

Prayers to you. It is hard to go through the search and finding that right person. Our little church has had to do so a number of times. God will send the right person for you.

Hugs for all of you--still don't know what's going to happen next--we had an assistant pastor a few years ago, but he's busy doing other things--I know from past experience that it takes time to find someone new--his last wish was that we all remember that we're a church "family"--and the family that prays together stays together...
