My little 5 year old granddaughter, Kansas, is so sick. She started feeling bad Christmas day. She even took a long nap. She was here a while yesterday and didn't look good then. So today my husband and I had her a few hours while her mom and sister went out to eat. She slept about an hour and woke up whiny and wanted her momma. Her nose is so stuffy and the more she cries the worse it gets. So I got her to sleep again and her momma came and got her. She had a fever then. So I think she needs to stay home in the bed tomorrow. Poor think. She's miserable. She may need to go to the doctor.

Now my throat is hurting. I'm loading up on vit. C today. And I think Kansas' throat looked a little red, too.

So please send up some get well prays for Kansas please. She just doesn't feel good at all.

Thank you, Kris

Thanks for all the things to try. Yesterday I could not swallow a thing. It hurt so bad I had to have a cup to spit in. Sounds awful, but true. I stayed in bed all day. My temp went up to 100.4. Today is so much better. I am heating some apple cider with mulling spices. The only thing that sounds good right now. And I'm starving. but nothing sounds good to eat, either. Maybe I'll lose a few pounds, wouldn't that be something?

And why do I only get sick when there are kids around to watch? I never get sick when they're in school.

Kansas is much better, too. She's here til about 2:30. My other DD just called. Said her throat is hurting really bad. She was at work, but is off tomorrow. Kansas is passing this around to everyone. I just hope my mom doesn't get it now.

Kris, Keep warm and drink lots of liquid. I drink Ginger Tea & Orange Juice mixture , Try a gargle of salt water as Alee suggested or also warmup some lemonade if you have it. drink it hot & real slow. It will sting abit but it will feel better. sorry you are feeling yukky!

Oh no Kristin! I am so sorry you aren't feeling well. Try gargling or even swishing your mouth out with salt water. It really helps. Also Echinachea, elderberry and golden seal drops help too.

Thank you for the thoughts. I have been in bed all day so far. Just took my temp, 99.7. I feel like someone has my throat in a grip and won't let go. I can't swallow. I am trying to drink some chicken broth now, but even that hurts.

Kansas is better, little bugger. I bet I got this from her, since I've had her all week. I think I'll go back to bed in a bit.

Oh dear! I hope that you both feel better soon. Sore throats and stuffy noses are misery. . BTW Kansas is such a cute name Kris. Take care of your self and I hope that her mama takes care of little Kansas and that you both get over this bug quick.
