Posted - Dec 02 2008 : 11:44:54 AM My best friend, Brenda, has breast cancer and will be having a mastectomy next Tuesday. She and I have been best friends for over 37 years now. She found the lump this summer but went to 3 different places that told her not to worry. She went to my doctor and they ordered tests and biopsies and found it was cancer. We hope that this and some chemotherapy will be all she needs. She will have a few more reconstructive surgeries after. Please say a prayer for her and/or send positive energies and thoughts her way.
I've not been well either. I've had to have several procedures and tests done lately with some biopsies taken. I received some bad news this past week and if you wouldn't mind please remember me too.
My mom is doing better. She's still not very mobile but her blood counts are going a lot better. Thanks so much for your prayers on her behalf and if you would mind please remember her as well.
Thanks so much everyone.

Posted - Dec 15 2008 : 10:59:02 AM My best friend just got back her results on the mastectomy. Her lymph nodes were negative for cancer and they think there won't have to be anymore surgery for the cancer. She has to have two more surgeries for reconstruction though.
Thanks so much for all the prayers on her behalf, I truly appreciate them and all of you!

Posted - Dec 10 2008 : 08:45:41 AM Just wanted to give an update for my mom and my best friend.
My mom is feeling much better these days and her blood counts are nearly normal. She has more energy and is starting to get interested in things going on. She's really looking forward to the holidays.
My best friend came through her surgery well. It only took 3 hours and the doctor said that she might get to come home earlier than planned. She called me early this morning and was a 'bit loopy' from the pain meds but it was so good to hear her voice.
Thanks so much for the prayers and good thoughts on their behalf.

Posted - Dec 05 2008 : 08:17:54 AM Thanks so much for the thoughts and prayers, we all appreciate them and you. I'd like to add another one of my family members to the list this morning. My cousin Brooke is having some complications with her pregnancy and had to be hospitalized. The doctors have said she has to stay off her feet for a month at least and possibly her whole term. Please if you would say a prayer for her as well. She's such a sweet and strong young woman.
