Arghhhhh! My husband jumped off something at work today and messed his knee up really badly. He is on crutches and pain meds now and has to have an MRI and a visit with an orthopedic surgeon next week...sigh. He is resting well (good meds I guess) and isn't in as much pain as he was. I am worried of course about how, right before Christmas the cut in his pay (he will be on Worker's comp I think) will pinch. I am thankful that if it HAD to happen that it was at work and not at home...at least all the doctor bills and meds are paid for. But still. He is going to get real cranky..he isn't one to lay around..and he dosn't have much choice right now. It is his right knee so he isn't even able to drive right now for awhile.
He will see the specialist (in Provo and hour and 1/2 away) early next week. Please pray that he will be able to heal quickly and for me to have patience with him.
Thanks gals!

Oh Jenny that is great news!! As much as I loved the idea of you teaching him to embroider...I did not see that as a likely option! HUGS from your friend in Ohio!

Jenny that is great news! I hope that it heals well and doesn't pain him a lot. I've had a broken ankle this summer, I have mortal pity on any other injured being. It's a good thing that he can get back to work, probably lying around in pain has worn you both thin at the edges. Thanks for the update, I've been thinking about your family and hoping your husband's knee wasn't hurt too bad.

Just got home with GREAT news..it is a partially torn tendon, but one that can repair itself..so no surgery!!! And inflamation under his kneecap too (ouch) so the good news is:
He goes back to work on modified duty (no mowing on hills or things that would put pressure on the knee) and he is off crutches and has a ridgid knee brace thing now ..the kind with a hinge..and so we are BOTH thrilled. He is more than ready to go back to work and I am more than ready to send him back. Thanks for all your prayers gals. Just need to get through 5 more days with him home and things can get back to more normal. He is in alot less pain now too!!

Thanks so much gals!! Thanks for "getting it" too! I was gone for a big part of the middle of the day doing bookmobile at the elementary school..a good break for us both I am sure. He slept alot today. I think when the initial pain gets better he will be "in my way" more. He has sort of a "terrier" personality and while that is wonderful as a provider and all,it is pretty intense when he is in MY area. The swelling has gone down some today and his poor leg looks better..but He won't know much until he has the MRI and visit with the specialist Monday or tues. sigh.
Again..thanks SO much for your thoughts and prayers!

I'm sorry to hear it, Aunt Jenny. I hope he's up and around soon. My dad was out of work on disability for 6 months (!) a few years back, and it's hard.

Poor Aunt Jenny. I feel more sorry for you than him. I know what it's like. Mine has been laid up a few times, too, and I'd much rather take care of animals!! Men are for sure awful when they get hurt or are sick. I'll be praying that he has a very speedy recovery and that it's not as bad as they think. And I'll pray for your strength and that you'll still love him when this is all just a memory.

Aunt Jenny ..praying for you. Men are such BIG BABIES.. My hubby is having surgery next month to clean out his knee & I am dreading the man moaning. I like what Alee said..Teach him embroidery. The last time hubby was laid up I gave him all the shoes in the house & made him polish them. That & he watched Bonanza non stop.. I FEEEL for ya!!
Janice, get your butt to the doc!

Oh, no!! Jenny, I am so sorry. :( You will definitely be in my prayers, but remember what happens when you pray for patience! So, instead, I will pray for a sunny disposition on his part.

He's in my thoughts, too, Jenny. I understand about the bum knee thing. Mine is still swollen and I'm avoiding going to a doctor...

Jenny,
Sorry to hear this. I know just what you mean. Richard hurt his shoulder and had surgery, and is off work until at least JAN. But with all your kids its much harder on you . I really hope its a fast fix for him. Don't give him a BELL!!
