Posted - Oct 02 2008 : 1:31:35 PM My cousin in Canada needs as much prayers as possible. She has a disease, and as far as they know she is the ONLY one in Canada that has it :( The doctors don't know anymore what to do.
She had a colonoscopy and they also found many many ulcers. Her legs might need to be amputated above the knees.
Nobody knows what the outcome will be. PLEASE pray for her. I am very saddened by this, she is my only cousin AND we are the only 2 girls left on our side of the family. Her dad and my mom were brother and sister. Her parents passed away, her hubby too, she has just come out of an abusive relationship. Her 2 children don't live close to her. She is almost all alone, besides her friends.
I CANNOT loose my cousin as well! I live thousands of miles from her, so can't go to help. I would if I could, in a heartbeat! I can only pray for her and ask you too to pray, please.
Like I said, this made me SO sad, I am on the verge of tears and a breakdown.
Hugs from Marian/Dutchy, a farmgirl from the Netherlands :)

Posted - Oct 15 2008 : 09:35:50 AM How scary this sounds, it is so hard to be so far away when our loved ones are ill. I will be sending my best healing thoughts to your cousin. Hi, Marian. These are a couple of websites for that illness I mentioned. I suppose it's not very likely that this is what your cousin has (what are the odds with all the diseases that are out there?) but it's worth looking at, right? My father in law had kidney failure as a result of amyloidosis (and that's the more common symptom), but he also developed ulcers and lost feeling in his legs and feet.
How is your cousin doing? Any new developments? |

Posted - Oct 03 2008 : 06:26:16 AM Marian, do you know the name of her disease? I don't want to be nosy, but my father-in-law had one of those very rare illnesses and it can be extra hard to have something that isn't recognized and understood. Some of the health issues you are describing sound similar. If, by any chance, she has amyloidosis (which is what he had) I found a good website for patients and their families. |

I know these times are tough. Keep up positive thoughts for your cousin and yourself. Maybe there are some of our Canadian sisters that might live close to her, and be willing to check in on her????
