Posted - Sep 21 2008 : 2:55:26 PM this post is really related to the call for prayers, but really i was wondering if anyone has any info in the laser guided needle biopsy. i did read that aunt jenny and tapestry have some understanding, i am just worried sick about all of this and seem to be focusing on the procedure. if anyone can tell me anything about it without scaring me more i would appreciate it. i have already had the mammogram, diagnostic mammogram and ultrasound and the doctors think it doesnt look good, it is in both breast. if you have ever had this test and felt scared and then got good news or whatever you can tell me i would really appreciate knowing. ] also thanks so much for all the prayers and please keep them coming . ]tommorrow in particular is when i will be seeing all the doctors and having the laser biopsy. thanks again.

Posted - Sep 24 2008 : 08:30:23 AM Oh, frannie. I'm so sorry you're going through this. Is there no other medication to numb the pain? I'm inclined to agree with your family about going elsewhere for the rest of the testing. Please try to rest. Sending hugs, prayers and positive energy.

Posted - Sep 24 2008 : 12:16:24 AM Oh Frannie, I'm so sorry you had a bad experience. I know after my biopsy and cyst aspiration they gave me nice big cold packs to use for comfort. I hope they did the same for you at least. Did they tell you that you could use over the counter meds for pain relief? I hope you get some rest and take care of yourself the next couple of days. Don't do anything strenuous. Just rest. Lots of farm girl huggzz.

Posted - Sep 23 2008 : 10:35:38 PM i wish the news was good here, but not so. had the biopsy, or at least tried to. apparently, my doctor says that a small percentage of folks cannot be numbed by lidicaine the med used to anesthsize for the biopsy. so after two samples i finally had to call it quits, cause i was feeling everything and it wasnt pretty, actually it was horrific. i understand that a biopsy isnt really pleasant for anyone, but according to my doc it was a flukey thing and i felt it all. have had a rough couple of days, and some nightmares to boot. i was supposed to have a cardiac test on thursday but called my doc today and said i want to postpone it. i need a break. i am exhausted physically and emotionally, and just need some time to regroup. my family wants me to go to dallas to have the rest of this work up done. i had no sedation before the test and no pain relief during the two biopsies that they were able to do. i am very weary. please keep me in your prayers.

Posted - Sep 22 2008 : 06:51:52 AM Frannie, I'll be praying for you, too. I know how it is when you don't know what's going to happen. You're mind goes off in all kinds of directions! Then you get there and done and it was nothing like you imagined it would be at all.
I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers today also.

Posted - Sep 21 2008 : 4:17:51 PM I have had a needle biopsy but not laser guided. My sister did..she said it took more time but wasn't too bad. I would ask if you should take something to help you relax before hand...my sister said she did need to. I will sure be praying for you!!
