This morning riding the little kids bike he slipped in sand and banged up his leg- very bruised and swollen- and black eye/road rash on face.. then a glutton for punishment- and against my pleading he went out riding again on his bike. when he didn't come back when expected we went looking. He wrecked his bike and was walking back. major road rash on elbow, side of body. And he may have broken a rib. arggg..
please pray that it is nothing major and we can deal with it at home- we owe enough medical bills.............from his broken ankle in january.
I am one stressed mama.
thank you all.

Blessings, Debra

Thank you Annika, I have been giving him lots of herbs to help in healing his liver. He just went to his evaluation for the outpatient alcohol treament program that he must go to for 6 months. It looks good. The guy who runs the program in our county is a nice guy and very helpful.
Jeff has no desire to go back to his old lifestyle- so many good things happened these past 3 months just from him being sober. He knows he will lose that if he goes back to drinking.
thank you for the encouragement.

Blessings, Debra

Just keep him off the booze. Dear Lord I used to drink like a fish when I was a young thing and burned my liver badly. That alone could still be causing him trouble. I hope that he gets back on his feet soon. I wish you strength and serenity, peace and joy.
Hugs to you dear sister, and way to go on the weight loss!!!!
Blessings

Annika, thank you. He just celebrated 3 months of sobriety. I took him back to the hospital to have him check out today. He is still suffering from headaches and blurry vision. he is fine but they said he will probably be like this from 1 week to several months. :-(

Well, I am beat. He had xrays from head to toe. So far they can see nothing broken but his left thigh has a very bad contusion. they fear that the bleeding in the muscle could calcify which would lead to a life long injury. thus the reason that football players wear thigh guards. So I have to cal on Monday morning to a ortho surgeon to try and get in by Wednesday. dr thinks that it will need to be drained. I also have to go to the bank on monday.
I am tired and very emotional. It has been the roughest year of my life and I finally get a sober hubby, then the situation with the house happens and now this. More medical debt. I have been in tears all day.
The one piece of good news is that we found his bike. He will order the part and we will sell it. He has too much to live for to take such risks. I thought falling in the sand would be better than riding a street bike.. but it looks like I was wrong. He is lucky to be alive.
thank you all for praying. and Dawn I may take you up on your offer. He has a long recovery- looks like it could be 3 months of limping.. and several weeks of pain..

Thanks.. To top it all off.. sent son to the crash site to pick up jeff's helmet, goggles and gloves. and the bike was gone- helmet and all. Jeff spent a lot of money on that bike (not money I liked spending on such a thing but it made him happy and he spent a lot of time with the kids riding- them on the quads him on the bike) and now it is gone. A hard lesson for him to bear. I pleaded with him to stay home and put his leg up- let me ice it and take care of you kind of a thing. He wouldn't listen. wanted to go riding. took jacob the first time but then took off again without jacob so he could ride faster.
He is sleeping now and I finally have the littles to sleep. I had started steaming large batches of brocolli, carrots and zucchini to be pureed and frozen but all of this got me side tracked so I was steaming and pureeing until 8pm. I have one more large bowl of carrots to steam and puree tomorrow.. I had 2 cases of brocolli- that took me the longest but I have like 100 cups of pureed brocolli now.
Soon I have to wake him to change his dressing. It was still bloody before so it seeped through the bandage.
thank you for the prayers..

Blessings, Debra
