This post is really hard for me. As some of you know, I posted a thread about my migraines awhile back. And I went to see a dr. What you may not know is that I've been blacking out, falling, doing nonsense things like "throwing water away" or forgeting repeatedly to turn the oven off, (one time I turned it up to broil thinking it was off). Its not just the headaches, its the whole ball of wax. So I go the the doc and yes, my coordination is off, and he refers me to the neurologist who in turn tells me that I need a CT scan. They think I may be in the early stages of MS. This is crushing news to me only a year and a week after the loss of my mom, AND I was just laid off work. I am a magnet for bad luck, thank goodness I have a good attitude as I just laugh my way thru life. But I havent laughed in a few days-poartly because the medicine they gave me brought an onslaught of hives...back to ER. Now I have shingles. Its almost hilarious! Well, it would be if it didnt hurt so darn bad! Here I am all swollen from hives, they tell me I might have MS, so i worry about that and break out in shingles! I am laughing through tears! Anyhoo, I am long winded. I have never been very religious. raised mostly by my grandfather and a hippie mother I was taught that nature is our religion. Not that I dont believe, I just...dont go to church. I guess my church is the great outdoors. I do pray, its a solitary thing. I do appreciate the wonder of it all...but grandpa and mom are gone, and I have no family but hubby-kins. I'm feeling small and I need farmgirls around me. If you have an extra one in you, I'd love to feel it.

Thank you for your thoughts. I am DONE with shingles....yay. What a pain that is... and they were on my head! thank goodness for farmgirl tiaras-as I could not stand to touch my hair! All of you are absolutely right. I cannot will something to happen or not to happen, it IS in Gods hands. AND: the Lord create all the bounties here on earth so it IS OKAY that my "church" is the great outdoors. I think when crap hits the fan , one tends to get caught up in specifics. And now that I've researched all I think I can stand to learn about MS it's not as daunting. Its a slow progressing disease, and many people live full ACTIVE lives that have MS. IF it progresses faster with in me, then I will use my knowledge and my attitude to help others who may have the same or a similar situation. I will treat it as a gift and live my life to my farmgirl fullest! I have such a bigger (lighter) heart knowing allof you are cyber hugging me!!! If theres anything that can cure the "personal pity party" its this forum! I love you! I love you! And..... guess what? I love you! PS: thank you for all the emails to those who sent them as well. Big Kisses! MUAH!

Hang in there Dawn!!!!! I see that you are online now. How are you doing today??? Don't let them freak you out with the whole MS thing... Ask your doc about the neurontin..see if it helps. Lysine cream also helps with the itchy/scratchies too...

Dawn, I am sorry for all the things that are happening. Things do seem to happen all at once. Please continue prayers and keep a positive attitude. I know its hard, but it does help in the long run. If you want you can email me. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Give it all to Christ, he is there for you. Trust him.

Dawn, you are in my thoughts and my prayers. I understand where you're coming from on church. And I totally agree with Debbie. Debbie said it the best. It's about your relationship with Christ. Just give your troubles over to Him, your load will be much lighter. And we are always here for you.

Your positive attitude shines through your post. Just take one day at a time & know us farmgirls are here for you. I am a silent prayer type gal too.. Nothing wrong with that. It all works.

Dawn, I love ya, girl! You have been such a ray of sunshine for me - in more ways than you know. I usually don't sign on to the computer on Sunday (or turn on the TV, etc.) just so I can have a day without all the "clatter" and get back to the things that make my life work. Of those things, the absolute main one is God. The girls here have said so many good things that I don't need to repeat because they've said it so well. What I will say is keep talking to Him. He loves you and cares for you more than anyone ever will because He made you and has a purpose for you on this earth.

Thank you for turning to the girls for prayers and hugs. You've posted on how much this site has meant to you. I believe God brought you here - maybe for this very reason. You've been in my prayers for awhile now and will continue to be. Gotta go now - hard to type through the tears.

God bless -
Karen

Dawn, I am praying you find the best doctor to help you and that you find healing through modern medicine.

You might want to google MS and see if there are any tricks you can find about diet, supplements, exercise or herbs. I don't know anything about this persoanlly, but my prayers are for healing for you.

Sending hugs and prayers your way! Debbie said it best, it's all about the relationship not a religion or attending church. There are a lot of people who attend church every week and do not have a relationship with God and then there are those who have a deep wonderful relationship with Him and rarely attend church. For me, it is wonderful to know that He hears us wherever we choose to pray. :O) Some days I find myself talking/praying to Him all day as I go about my daily life.

Keep us posted,

((((Hugs)))),

I too will be praying for you. Trust me, the one who can get you through all this is Jesus. I know because I was diagnosed with lung cancer early last Spring and had my lung removed on May 8th. Now I am going through chemo. I couldn't have got through it without the prayers of our girlfriends and knowing I am surrounded by God's love.

Remember me as a rose.

Dawn, I'm sorry to hear about what's been going on and your pain. I agree with Annika that Neurontin is good for shingles pain. I had several outbreaks a few years back and of all things my Dr. prescribed it seemed to work best, and didn't have many bad side effects. You will be in my prayers and I'm sending positive and warm healing thoughts your way.

I would like to say all of the things that Debbie said, she did such an awesome job. I am a strong follower of Christ and will be praying for you. I do most of my praying in my garden and while hanging my laundry, I feel closer to God when I am outside :)

Take care of your self girl, I wish we were there to give you big hugs but we are all sending them in our hearts

Dear Dawn, My heart is crying for you and tears are falling on the keyboard as I type I am and will be praying for you. I have no magic words to make all the bad stuff go away. Here I am a professing Christ follower and I don't know how to tell you about the depths of love God has for you. I could say all the things people always say but to me it sounds hollow and insincere. I can tell you about how He has been there for me and my family time and time again, not due to our faith but His faithfulness. I can tell you that we have had hard, crushing times in our lives and been down to the ends of ourselves and how He showed Himself through the lives of others on our behalf, just like your sisters here will and are doing. I can tell you that it is about a relationship not a religion and a building (church)isn't God, just a place for His followers to gather. I can tell you for me it's been about what shall I do with Jesus and will I choose to believe in Him when everything comes tumbling down and I can see no good earthly reason why it is so...after much investigation and seeking for my pain I have decided to follow Him no matter how it goes here on earth. I have come to learn that His ways are higher than mine and pain causes me to run to Him and hide in the shelter of His wings. He doesn't say anywhere in the Bible that we will live pain free lives here, He says that we infact will have troubles here and now. I do believe that God makes the way through our hard times and that I need but hold on and lean on Him. Afterwards to see how it has made me dependent on Him and not on my own lacking abilities to weather the storms. I can't do this thing called life without His grace and mercy. I need to believe in Someone greater than myself and admit that I need God...It is my heartfelt prayer that you will experience God in the midst of these trials and be able to rise above to see His hand clearly on your behalf...He is your heavenly Father...Debbie

Dawn, you had me getting teary-eyed. I understand. I have Charcot Marie Tooth Disease which can be like MS somewhat. It has to do with the nervous system and muscles. I do the kind of stuff you are talking about all the time. I have lived with this all my life so I get used to it but am learning (and trying to accept!!) all the time.
If you need anyone for a listening ear or to be there for you, I am here! I also understand about when you say you don't go to church.. that part I understand too .. You have my prayers ......

Ask about Neurontin for the shingles, it really helped when my boyfriend's mom had them. I am with you that nature is my god in many ways. I am sending you a big farmgirl hug and a huge get well and hopefully make peace with your body wish. I'm so sorry about the migraines and the possible MS. I hope that they can get you on some meds soon to help you with the nasty symptoms

More hugs!
