As many of you know I have been jobless for awhile and not having much success in finding one with health insurance which my DH and I have no way of having except through a job. Today I am in need of good thoughts and prayers today. I got a call on Friday afternoon from the company I used to work for Home for Independent Living (Where I was a group home manger) for a job interview. The job they want to interview me for is supporting adults with developmental disabilities who live independently in their own apartments, but have someone look in on them once a week, month, twice a week, ect… Just to make sure they are taking their meds, going to work, clean ect… Also doing intakes and meeting with social workers, work mangers ect… Doesn’t have a lot if any overtime and nights and weekends are rare. Upper middle management position. Here were the problem comes in they usually require a BA and social work experience of which I have none. But I do know the district manger well. Her son and my son Jon were good friends. I worked with her son at the high school to get him through and graduate and he did . I also know the state manger as I provided childcare for her daughter when she was 18 months old. She is now 23. I have been highly recommended for the position. I have rehearsed and prayed and prayed. I feel pretty clam but could sure use some extra prayers that this all works out for the best whatever that may be. But being selfish I do hope the job will be mine.
Thanks for listening to me ramble and for prayers and good thought.

Well I wen to the interview and i landed the job. I actually started today after the interview. I will return tomorrow for orientation and such. Since I worked for the company 2 years ago I should not have to retrain which would be awesome as it was very boring the first time. The pay is not the greatest but the benefits are awesome. The lady I am replacing has been in the position for 6 years and is leaving due to moving out of state. The other 4 in the division have been there anywhere from 10-25 years. So low turn over tells me it should be a good place to work. I am excited to be done with this job search and hope not to have to repeat it ever again in my working years. Thank you for all the prayers and good wishes. I am sure they all helped.:>)

Good luck, Betty Jo! Sounds like a great job. My husband works in the develompmental disabilities field, and any jobs like that around here would have you on call 24/7.
