I went to the doctor yesterday, And had a blood test. I have raynalds disease, hyperglomia( lo sugar)not sure if correct term) and lately have felt the best. And was diagnosed with diabetes. After fasting it was high and this morning its too low. I have to do readings for the next 10 days before they start med's. I know high readings hurt the organs. Anyway, if you could say a prayer it would be appreciated.

Just wanted to give you an update....

My sugar is down but not where it should be. I am flowing from 133 to 164. And I am exercising and walking. I don't see her until next month ( no insurance) So I am sure she will increase it. I am eating what they want to too, and staying incredibilty close to the diet- hungry or not. A little frustrated at this point. But will keep plugging at it.

I never thought that there would be so many diabetes patients out there. Maybe we should start a page for us. Ask questions and tell our problems. I just recemtly read that 90% to 95% of the us will have some form of diabetes because we eat wrong or too much and don't bother to exercise. WOW! Thats Huge Numbers. It's just mind blowing. Of coarse, no one thinks it will happen to them. I appreciate all the prayers and have prayed for all of you.

Thank You Ladies so much! You all have been great encouragement to me. all the advice makes and stories help. I will continue to read and I have sign up for 3 classes at the hopital and a support group as well. I do realize doctors, nurses, friends that give advice are someones opinion and i do take my health as my responiblity as well. If possible with diet and exercise I won't be type 2 for long, if its in my ability to change it. Everyone keeps asking me how did I know. Its God, knowledge of the disease certainly helped. We definately need to learn all we can, it could save our loves or a loved one. I pray you all do so.
My Doctor appt this Thursday 9 am, then I take my 1st class class at the hospital at 11am. thanks for encouragement and the caring it means a great deal to me.

debi .. i've had diabetes for about 12 years now .. started out 'hypoglycemic' (kissin' cousins to diabetes) .. yep! it finally went into type TWO .. had that for about ten years .. now i'm a full blown type one. i go high and low .. and yep .. with me i rarely feel the 'highs' .. but oh lordy! those lows will lay you out flat!

i just got a 'pump' .. and my endocrinologist says the pump is the best thing she puts her TYPE ONES on!

you'll be o.k. honey .. just get to know your body and how it reacts to various foods .. and ABSOLUTELY, POSTIVELY .. NO MATTER WHAT .. keep "monitoring" your blood sugars .. even if you are a type TWO ... cuz' (like me) if you don't .. you will surely slip into a type ONE!

so far .. all my parts are workin' just fine! no awful side effects at all! (smoke 'em while you got 'em!) xo

Debi,
Good for you girl! It sounds like you're educating yourself and doing everything you can to control your health. There are lots of things out there to read and learn from and so many conflicting stories. Just do what feels best to you, what feels right in your gut (both figuratively and literally) and also what somewhat aligns with your doctors' advice. Best wishes!!!

Thank you, ladies1 GOD BLESS YOU ALL!  Lynn-I had hypoglycemic. They told me it was the begiining too. Tell your mother she in my prayers, you are to. I am thankful she has a daughter like you. Elaine- I been lying if I did not say I was scared. I have found out a few things that might help you. 1. cinnamon helps break down the sugar, promotes sugar metabolism, 2. L-Carnitine assist in the breakdown of fat cells to produce engery making available fot muscle tissue usage.3. Co Q -10  helps food to be broke down for energy.  Everyone who I have talked to swears by them.  Also curry and cloves are good. Also a new fact that was found if you take a multivitamin, break it half; to take half in morning and half in evening, your body will only absorb have of it.

I will pass on any information I find. Since I have gotten the new meter I have no problems, its still high, 239 was my last reading. I did not realize you would feel fine if its high, and bad if its low. Newbie to the Diabetes. Live and learn.

MY MOTHER IS HYPOGLYCEMIC. SHE HAS TO WATCH EVERY BITE SHE TAKES IN.
AND IN THE BEGINING IT WAS ROUGH. WHEN IT WAS AT ITS WORSE SHE WOULD
ALMOST HAVE SEIZURE LIKE ACTIVITY AND WOULD LAY IN BED A WHOLE DAY BEFORE SHE WAS ABLE TO STAND WITHOUT ASSISTANCE. IT HAS BEEN 10 YEARS SINCE SHE HAD A SPELL THAT BAD. WE ARE THANKFUL. I WISH YOU LUCK WITH THIS AND SEND PRAYERS OF INCOURAGEMENT TO YOU. ALTHOUGH MY MOTHER IS NOT A FARMGIRL YET, SHE SENDS HER PRAYEERS ALSO.

I called the doctor to see what they wanted me to do and they did not bother to call back. After figturing out on my own ( don't or didn't know anything about meters , etc) I use to the control formula to calbrate(-misspelled) the machine. And found out it did not work correctly. It should of 112 and it read 38. I gave it up and went and bought one. Well, at testing it first, I was still high. Thank you Ladies very much I do appreciate it.

Debi- I'm sorry to hear that. Diabetes can be such a tricky disease. You can help slow the progress of diabetes with 30 minutes of walking or other exercise a day, plus watching what you eat. And drink lots of water to help keep your kidneys working. You will definitely be in my prayers.
