Today when I saw on the news that the military was going to be pushing through the Diyala province in Iraq, my heart stopped. My son is there in that region on his third tour with the Army. I don't know his exact location but I do know that his battalion is scattered in that province. I am so very proud of him and his committment. He recently reenlisted because, as he told me, "the job's not done yet, Mom. You taught me to finish what I start." But I am also his mom and an Army vet myself, so I know. I just ask that you please remember him in prayer.

Mary, From my devotions this morning Psalm 70:1 - "Please, God, rescue me! Come quickly, Lord, and help me." At first I thought of this for your son, but then I realized he is God's answer to those people's prayer, along with all the other courageous people serving our country. Your son will be in my prayer's and so will you.

My prayers are with you and your son. Thank you for supporting him in choice to serve our country. I presently have a son there also for his second tour, one in Korea, and one leaving in January as he has been called up too. It's very scary. But I know God will keep them safe and in his care.
