Please keep my brother Jim in your prayers. He leaves for the Phillines/Manila for 8 weeks.

He is a Blue Cross Blue Shield trainer and will be training employees there. Luckily he'll be boarded in a 5 star hotel, but it's still far and away from his wife and 2 kids.

I feel for ANYONE whose spouse or child is fighting in the war.
I pray for the troops every time I see one of those yellow magnets.

Got a short but better e-mail from my brother last night.

He was able to find Melatonin. In the Philipeans guess they donm't have Advil p.m. yet.

So Jimbo says he is getting a little more sleep.

1 month down, 20 days to go.

Please continue to remeber him and pray for his safety and safe return!

Anna, thanks so much for the update! Even though I don't know you or Jim personally, you're in my prayers and it's nice to be kept in the loop.

God bless -

One month down one to go

Jim talked with my folks last night via Skype, I was on the internet(dial-up.....phooey) and missed the call

He is doing well but the work is progressing slowly as a few students aren't "getting it"

Jim is also able to venture out a little w/ his guide and has done a little shopping

The sleep issue is still a concern Manilla doesn't have Advil or Tylenol P.m. So he is going to search out some melatonin.

After we just spent a week on the road and having to listen to the person above us "tap dance" every moring when they were getting ready to leave, I can fully understand how Jim can be sleep deprived.

Remember, he works in the evenings and tries to sleep during the day

poor thing

maybe when he gets back the jet lag won't be near as bad then but somehow I doubt it

thanks all

Annab, I will keep your brother in my prayers and also your family. Here in NC we are very fortunate that we have not faced natural disasters such as tornados, floods, and so on. Listening to the news of all the natural disasters that the world is experienced then the devastation of the way some countries are torn apart due to war and government.

Your brother may be doing what his job is requiring of him, but he seems like a caring person that loves to help people.

God bless

Anna, I'll be praying for Jim's safety and that someone will come aloongside him to befriend him. Also praying for you and the family - for strength and comfort until you all see him again.

God bless -

Saw photos Jim sent via e-mail

Most disturbing one is of a kid about 6 years old, absoutly NO clothes, just playing IN the street

Several typhoons have passed through, so the streets are flooded

**My brother is your typical type A personality. He usually doesn't know a stranger and thrives on being where the action is. He is lonesome

Spoke w/ the family last night. Kind of cool to havea 3 way call going, with jim all the way across the world.

He is doing well. Week 1 down, 7 more to go. only major glitch is his raging case of athletes foot from the shower.

Since Jim works at night, he obviously has to try and sleep in the day. not very easy to do in a busy hotel. So he is exhausted but can't sleep.

Pray he finds relief and peace to sleep

thanks everyone!

Have any of you read or heard about the recent rash of airplane crashes?

This doesn't sit well at all.

Last one I read about was a small charter aircraft that barely made it off the runway. No survivors.

Relieved to know my brother won't be frling again until Seprember 21 on his way back to the states.

Anyone else traveling, my thoughts and prayers are for their safety too.

Thanks everyone

Thanks ladies!

Actually got to see and hear Jim over this weekend. My folks have high speed internet and use that Skype. Kind of cool to see someone all the way across the world in real time.

He'll talk to them and his wife tonight. I'll be curious to hear about his first week.
