What a day! This morning as my 17 year old son was driving to school a SUV cut in front of him as he was going 55 mph! Thank God he listened and wears his seat belt. Matt ( my son) has severe whiplash, bruised sternum and chest, a broken wrist, two busted knees, and a nice size knot on his head. It could have been sooo much worse. The front end of the truck is completly crashed in and is a total. There was a gas station where he was hit and the impact spun his truck into the building. He missed the gas pumps by a few feet. We have had our scare for the month!

Tamara, I am sorry to hear about this and hope your son is feeling better. You and your family are in my prayers. You have a great place to work, that was so nice to let you off with pay like that. Very caring people.

Thank you ladies for all of the prayers.

We just saw the orthopedic dr today it looks like a couple of operations for my son. They are going to put pins in his wrist that is dislocated ( it will not stay put) and he will need surgery on his right knee. Right now they want the swelling to go down a little more, so I should have some surgery dates by the end of the week. He is in a lot of pain with the whiplash and bruised chest cavity.

My work is being very kind. They told me to stay home with him this week with pay. How sweet is that!

Oh my gosh...so glad it wasn't worse! Let us know how things go with the doc today--he's going to be hurting for a while. I know just that getting hit by the SUV several weeks back, it took some time to get my body to feel better (and my mind).

Wishing him well!!!!

Thanks for all your well wishes. He is VERY sore today I am worried about the whiplash and his knees too. The dashboard hit his knees with such impact that it busted open his knees. They are extremly swollen and he is having sharp stapping pains across the bottom of the knee area. We have an appointment with the orthopedic dr on Monday.

I was at my job 2 hours from home when this happened. My husband was at a job that was 2.5 hours from home. We get the call that he was in a head on collision, having trouble breathing and his neck was injured. To top it off my car phone charger quit working and my cell phone died about 15 minutes into the drive! For 1 hour and 45 minutes I had no clue what had happened. That was all I knew for the 2 hour drive. Talk about being an emotional wreck

Thank God he survived and he listened about wearing his seatbelt! I was in a accident 8 years ago where the yo-yo behind me never noticed 30 of us stopped at a red light. He hit me so hard that I was thrown in to two other cars. My car was completely totaled. I had my seat belt on and suffered whiplash only. The problem with my whiplash is as the years go by, the pain in my neck and shoulders gets worse and worse. Make sure your son gets a superb settlement to help with the long term problems from this.

I hope and pray for a speedy recovery for him.

Wow, praying that he has speedy recovery. Accidents at such a young age can be good and can be bad. Good thing he was wearing his seatbelt.
