I am sad today. My daughter Katheran has miscarried at 8 weeks into her first pregnancy. Maybe it was too soon for me to put my hope into the future for having a new life to bring joy to our family. I admit at first I was deeply discouraged by the news that she was going to have a baby because of her age and the place she is in her life, but I had grown somewhat accustomed to the idea and was actually starting to think ... ok, well this can be something postitive. A new baby always brings joy and hope. For me it was like a light of hope for helping me deal with the loss of my mom. I was actually getting cozy with the idea... the sweetness of a newborn, a possible connection with my daughter and a hope that she would find it easy to come to me with questions about her changing body and about the growth and development of her baby. I was looking forward to witnessing the miracle of pregnancy. Today.. that too is gone and I feel empty.

Janice, I just saw this. I'm so very sorry. You will be in my prayers. I know it has to be hard with everything that's gone on the past few months. I'm sending you warm thoughts and hugs.

Janice, the phrase "everything happens for a reason" is getting trite these days but it's still true. Don't try to second-guess it. Just know that when the time is right, that little bundle of love will visit you all again. Asking God's blessings to flow abundantly on you all.

Janice- I am so sorry. That type of loss is a pain that runs deep in the soul. But maybe this is a gift in a way, for you to be able to become closer to your daughter and to cradle and comfort her in her time of loss, and to help you overcome your own. You are both in my prayers.

Janice, Jen said something so simple but so powerful. The future and all that it holds, is in the hands of our Creator. He does not try us beyond what we are able to bear, and He has given you incredible strenghth and the ability to hope for the days ahead. You and your family are in my prayers for the sadness you are having to endure right now. I wish for you the blessing of peace. Hugs, Nance

I am so sorry for the loss that you and your daughter are suffering through. A miscarriage is so hard, especially when you find out early and start to get bonded. I have had two miscarriages within that same general time frame. I really empathize with the feeling of loss and helplessness that this situation can create. If you need a sympathetic ear, please feel free to email me, or even call.

My heart and thoughts go out to you, your daughter and her significant other. I was always afraid, even though there was no reason, that the same would happen to me. Creating such a fragile being is scary work. My best to you all.
