took myself to dr. yesterday and thought I "might" have a kidney infection from pain in left side..yep..I did/do. So am on antibiotics today..and I feel like crud..so tired and slightly nauseated from meds. and want to take a nap(this from a gal that never takes naps)but I feel I "need" a nap today.
so anyhow..if you have some good thoughts and prayers to spare..I'd sure appreciate it. thanks gals..hugs to you all.

the fall did hurt, about knocked the breath out of me, I was good and sore for a couple days afterwards, now I just have these big pretty bruises by my knees and a couple tiny ones on my elbows. but luckily they are going away.So glad I didn't break anything.
Being a good girl now and taking my medicine.Just started the new dose last night.Really hoping and praying that this dosage works to solve the problem.

well gee..went to dr. and he said the 1st round of meds didn't take. I had a sneaking suspicion that just 3 days worth wasn't gonna knock it out..but the good thing is no more pain.
But another round of antibiotics..this time for 7 days.
I bought myself some organic apple juice to drink twice a day along with lots of water.
I asked the doc if this whole thing could have been triggered by my accidentally getting myself dehydrated and he said "oh yes..that will almost always do it to you" ..not to mention bacteria" So..anyhow..just so you gals know..don't let yourselves get dehydrated.
I'm plugging along drinking lotsa water and have to go back to dr. in 6 weeks.
Good thing though is I lost 5 lbs so he was happy with me about that. No blood in the specimen so that was good too.
Anyhow..thought I'd leave a wee update.

Naomi joked and told me"mom just cause you are gonna be 40 this year doesn't mean you have to start falling apart now" LOL I told her I know..it's not intended by any means.

doing real good. I go back on Wednesday. don't know what caused it,but I did have to have a cath urinalysis back in December with a hospital visit and it took 3 tries before they got it right..ouch..so who knows..maybe it was just waiting to occur from that..but it is highly possible that I let myself get dehydrated too cause I have a bad habit of not drinking water like I should have. doing much better on the water intake now though. don't want to go through this again. my sister said she gets the infections at least once a year to every other year..ouch.mine was actual kidney pain I never had the burning. that's why I thought it was ovarian cyst related. at any rate I'm doing much better,unless you count the fact that I fell the other night while taking Collin/my puppy potty at midnight/tripped over a tiny stump piece and landed on my knees and boobs.ouch. have a big bruise on a vein up under my knee cap and am sore up top cause I'm not exactly a tiny gal. but...all in all I'm doing real well though.thanks so much for asking and keeping me in your thoughts and prayers. I have really appreciated it alot. I certainly feel loved here by you gals.

Tina, let's surround that kidney with you know what -- blue light! See it's already working in cooperation with the medicine and your resting and drinking lots of water, as the girls said. Aren't we fortunate to have modern medicine to help us?

Tina- when I had a UTI- I drank and drank and drank so much water and cranberry juice, I thought I was going to float away. And also, for some reason, staying away from hard to digest carbs helped a lot too!!!

hi gals..yes thank goodness I feel as right as rain again..no more pain..thank goodness for modern medicine!and kind thoughts and prayers too.. as I literally had begun this feeling like I'd been kicked in the side by a horse.
...pretty painful stuff.(had not had a kidney infection in 26 yrs so this sort of threw me for a loop)
thanks so much for all the thoughts and prayers. they really do/did help.
All of you farm girls are so very sweet and I appreciate all of you.
I'm feeling much better and back to normal now.
I do have a follow up appointment in about 2 weeks though...and am trusting that the report will be a good one.

luckily hubby planted them all already.:0) but yes..I'm definitely on the mend now..just having to run to the little girls room more than usual..ha.
that might be because I have upped water intake a lot to get over this..but yes..I'm on my way back to normal.

starting to feel some better..called dr's office today and they said that the antibiotic lasts in my system for 5 days after I finish taking it..so I am really hoping it helps a lot. The pain has started diminishing..so that is a good sign.
