My friend's husband has had back pain since the fall. Typical man, he has put up with the pain, and fought going to see a doctor. This went on all winter and things got progressively worse, to the point where last month they couldn't get him out of the house to even go to see a doctor. Then we had snowstorm after snowstorm, stranding them every time they had a doctor's appointment.

At last, friends managed to carry him out to see someone last week, and this week he had an MRI which revealed an advanced cancerous tumor on his spine, and spots on his liver, spleen and gall bladder. Things don't look very good for Bob, and he needs prayers now.

Please don't let the men in your life ignore their health!

Thanks,

Lori

Sadly, Bob passed away yesterday, 7 days after his MRI diagnosis.

Oh my gosh. That is scary. I will make sure to keep an eye on dh. He always will ignore pain and not tell me about it until it is critical mass. So sorry to hear about your friend.

Lori, sorry to hear about your friend. Yes, the men in my life tend to ignore pain too. They wait too long to go to the doctor or just don't go at all. I'll be praying for your friend's husband.

I'm sorry to hear that your friend got such a bad diagnosis, Lori. I can easily see my father waiting that long to get a problem checked out. I don't know why men take that attitude more than women do, but I make sure to encourage my husband to go right in if he's concerned about something.
