My son just called me, very upset at the news he had received. His vet, who is also a personal friend, was working on a horse hoof, when he slipped and his knife slashed his femoral artery and he bled to death within 5 minutes. This man was 45 years old and had a wife and 7 children. Please remember this man's family in your prayers. (and also please say a little one for my son - he is very upset about losing his friend.)
I just got the news article about this tragedy and it seems he was performing a necropsy, and not working on a hoof as my son was initially told. Here's a link:

This is so very sad. My sympathy goes out to the family. I am saddened by the number of tragedies lately, this one is truly awful, I am so sorry for his poor wife and children.

I just read this today, I am so sorry for his family, my Lord, 7 children! They will so be in my prayers and your son too. It is awful losing a good friend.
