My father-in-law was rushed into ICU last night. He was diagnosed with having sepsis (a severe illness caused by overwhelming infection of the bloodstream by toxin-producing bacteria). He is 82 and has been fighting leukemia the past 11 years. My husband is understandably distraught and there isn't much we can do at this time since his family lives in southern CA & we're in IL. We are praying for a pain free outcome. God will decide what that will be.

Thank you,
Dawn in IL

My husband and I thank all of your for your kind words, prayers, and support. We were very touched by your thoughtfulness. My father-in-law will be spending another night in ICU because of his fever & leukemia history. They plan to move him to a regular room tomorrow. He isn't out of the woods yet, but things are a little better for him. He has been in a lot of pain these past few years, we're really praying that it will go away. He was scheduled for chemotherapy in mid January, but they will probably cancel that now.

Thank you again for your prayers.

So sorry, Dawn. This is a terrible time for illness, for sure, and what with all your FIL has been through! Thinking of peace and health to him, and your family.

Dawn, you and your husband... and your family are in my prayers. It's such a hard thing to go through, and at this time of year, especially poignant.
