Posted - Dec 13 2007 : 1:57:34 PM Well it was beautiful but deadly! We had an inch or more of ice on everything by Wed night. No power all day Wednesday. Power came on again yesterday and was on until about 10am this morning, then off again until now. Many though are not as fortunate as we are and even with the crews from neighboring states working round the clock - some have been told 7-10days til everything is back and running.
Please pray for everyone involved, the crews who are working, the weather and family's involved. Today when I went to go to the library and a store in town the power went off but the store good naturedly put up a sign that said shop by candlelight!
Blessings,
Holly
ps - if you could add a little prayer for me too that would be great as I slipped and fell today getting in the car! Flat on my bum/back. Felt so stupid! But with my fibro I know it's really gonna hurt later/tomorrow. Thanks!

Posted - Dec 15 2007 : 05:24:39 AM So now we have more snow --- I slid off the road last night on the way home and got stuck but some great guys got me out. Didn't want hubby to drive 25 miles on icy roads with blowing snow. It's beautiful.
Please pray for everyone who still has no power.

Posted - Dec 13 2007 : 5:55:41 PM here in tulsa, some are still in the dark. i never lost power until today.. it would go off for a while and come back on. we've been declared a state of emergency.. i was so happy to see all the utility trucks from neighboring states yesterday, saw some from as far as south carolina. i am so thankful to those guys for all they are sacrificing to help others.

Posted - Dec 13 2007 : 5:06:18 PM Prayers to you! Just a hint though for your bruised bum... try vicks vapor rub or cream. It works wonders. Two fold. For one it helps achy muscles by warming them up. And two, since it helps "decongest" ie. "relax" your lungs, you will get a better sleep in the cold weather, hence more healing.
I love deadlines. I especially like the whooshing sound they make as they go flying by. ~anon |
