Posted - Nov 20 2007 : 09:07:45 AM I'm having a bad pain day with my hands and shoulders. I can't see my doctor until the 5th, unless I go to ER and I don't think I can afford that,I'm just stuck with the pain and nothing to do for it. I want to be cheerful and happy for the holidays and it's hard when you are hurtin'
Any merciful thoughts, good jokes or "chin up girl!" statements would be welcome. I've got a long way to go until the 5th.
Thank all of you for being the very best adopted sisters on the earth, and understanding human failability and being my go-to place for fun and comfort. I love everyone of you.
Wishing you joy in small things and peace in your heart

I hope you are feeling better today. Pain is not fun, and it really sapps your energy. I love my rice bags. Right now I have a strained or sprained neck. I have been carrying my rice bag everywhere with me.
Have you ever tried Tiger's Balm? It usually works wonders but I don't have any in the house. It is kindof like Unker's cream which we also happen to be out of. I haven't ever tried it, but maybe something like Bengay would help?
Please let me know if there is anything I can do to help!

Posted - Nov 20 2007 : 12:05:09 PM Thank you all for the suggestions, going for the heating thingy with the rice and sock and then a shower. Hey Tina, I've heard that about the Caffeine, and it really DOES make me hurt worse, so I'm weaning myself of it asap. Not an easy task LOL!
Thanks for the comfort and advice Hugs back Annika |

Posted - Nov 20 2007 : 11:41:07 AM I'm sorry Annika.
If you don't have a heating pad, but think that one would help just fill a large thick sock with some rice and pop it into the microwave until hot. It stay hot a long time and will contour to your body.

Posted - Nov 20 2007 : 11:04:29 AM So sorry, Annika. It's a pain to be in pain ...I'm wishing you better days ahead, though, girl. Sidle up to the fire (because hopefully, you are cold enough out there to have one--we're at 70 degrees today), sip something warm and take the chill off your bones.
If you have to go to the er, you do. You, your health and well being come before anything else, money or no. If you don't take care of you, who will?
Pullin' for you, Jonni

Posted - Nov 20 2007 : 10:58:39 AM I'm sorry to hear that you're in pain today Annika. I hope and will pray that you get some relief soon. The 5th is too long to wait when you're in pain like that. Do you have a heating pad or maybe you could take a hot bath or shower? I have days like that too and it helps a bit to stand under the warm shower letting the water hit my shoulders and neck for a few minutes. I have herniated discs in my neck (due to an accident when I was younger) and one in my lower back with a spur.
Please take care and feel better soon.
