Posted - Nov 04 2007 : 9:09:03 PM spent all day in ER today. all my blood work and cath urinalysis came back fine. but I have to see my gyn first thing this week.wasn't how I expected to spend my weekend..half of it in ER. uggh. anyhow..I'm fine now, but would still like the good thoughts and prayers if you are so inclined.doc said its most likely just one of the lovelies of being pre menopausal and a combination of that and hormones being wacky.(excessive bleeding with clotting)so anyhow..I'm all wore out and tired. Have to take iron and see the doc in the next few days. thanks in advance for the thoughts and prayers. really appreciate all you gals.

Posted - Nov 12 2007 : 5:41:06 PM my dr's appointment started out well..yucky..they did not even have me in the system for an appointment today when I walked in..arrggghhh! and I just started bawling, nearly sobbing actually. (I guess you'd have to know what it feels like to have had an ER visit and not know what is wrong with you all week long..and the thoughts that go through your head during a week long wait to get in to see a dr. and have yourself psyched up for the dr. appt. because you are nervous about the situation...and have scheduled an appointment..to arrive and be told"what?? we don't have you down here at all")..I came unglued. Anyhow..they worked me in and I only had to wait about half an hour past my initial "supposed to be" scheduled appointment. Sheew. Anyhow...after that..I was examined and as I layed there the most wonderful words I had heard all day..to end the worry and nerves was " You do not have any tumors, no fibroids, nothing.you do not have cancer." I just laid there and said "Thank God!" My ovaries are normal size, although one has a string of "pearls"...cysts. And the lining in the uterus is thickened. Basically I have what they call "polycystic ovarian syndrome" I will be taking a blood test, and a fasting test to check for thyroid issues and to also check for insulin resistance. In the meantime I was given provera which starts things going..again..(yeah.."oh joy!..ha) but will do a thorough 'clean out" similar to a d&c... but medically induced. Then I go back in a month to make sure the thickening has gone down. Then we go from there on treating the "polycystic ovarian syndrome" ...But it is all good news. And I am so glad that all is well. Thanks for your prayers and thoughts. I really appreciated it alot.

Posted - Nov 07 2007 : 08:12:00 AM sounds like my usually monthly cycles and that is why I control my cycles so I only get one every 3 months now. Yours is probably more menopausal mine is just my bleeding disorder. I hate that time of the month ( tri month). Mine is tomorrow so I will be right there with you so to speak on the tired worn out and clot part of life. Much prayers your way I am use to it I hope you don't have to get used to it. Take care sunshine

Posted - Nov 07 2007 : 07:29:38 AM Tina, I hope you can get extra rest while your body recoups. Like Kathy, I also ended up with a hysterectomy. What can I say... you just try to make the wisest choice for your situation. I'm on bio-identical hormones and have no mood swings at all, whereas I had a lot of mood issues before the surgery. My anemia disappeared, too. All in all it was the best thing for me. Praying your doctor and you get this cleared up!

Posted - Nov 06 2007 : 8:29:41 PM Tina, hang in there. Towards the end before I had my hysterectomy, I was passing huge clots and would not stop bleeding. I was totally exhausted and felt like crap. Spent many times in the ER for shots of Demerol for cramps. Having my hysterectomy was a blessing although it is a major adjustment to have to make. Are they trying to give you something to lessen the bleeding?

Posted - Nov 06 2007 : 1:15:31 PM Tina, you've been through a lot! I hope the doctor can help you on Monday. I had fibroids that caused heavy bleeding. The first time was a shock, especially because I was away from home. Taking iron helps for weakness (anemia) if you need it. Praying for you...

Posted - Nov 06 2007 : 10:08:56 AM thank you all so much for the care and prayer. I am feeling better..things have slowed down now..yay!but am just wore out from the blood loss. gee whiz..it does take it out of you that's for sure..that and being poked and prodded a bit more than usual. But I'm feeling better...and taking it slow and easy. See the doc on Monday to get straightened out. Thanks so much for caring. Love and hugs, Tina

Posted - Nov 06 2007 : 09:35:32 AM Tina...glad that you're doing a little better. You are tired because of blood loss so take it slow and easy for awhile. I had similar problems in my mid 30s (some of the clots were like giving birth) and doctor finally decided that it was endometrosis (sp) no family history and no problems before that. Had to have a hystrectomy at 36 what a relief. Hugs,Kathy |

Posted - Nov 05 2007 : 3:01:15 PM I had never had what was going on yesterday. Silly me, woke up thinking "oh yeah..I'm gonna be working all day in the new flower bed planting roses"..ha. yeah ..right..until I passed a lemon sized clot and knew something just wasn't right with my body. Today I am doing much better..thank goodness.I woke at 9:30..was tired. Puttered around for an hour, then went back to bed until 1 this afternoon..yikes! whoa. I must have really been tired. But with 3 tries on trying to get blood from me yesterday(yeah..they poked me 3 times..ouch!) and with 3 tries of trying to get the cath in for urinalysis..triple owee! I was pretty wore out. I go to see the dr. on Monday. From what I have heard this is what it can be like sometimes when you start getting ready for menopause. I am 39 after all..eeek! Maybe I can slide into this new stage in life gracefully, but yesterday I felt anything but graceful..I felt pretty blah. The nurses in ER did say I was their sweetest/nicest patient though.:0) hee hee..so that was nice. Thanks so much for your prayers and good thoughts. They are working..am doing better today.

Posted - Nov 05 2007 : 1:11:22 PM Tina, When I was pre-menopausal, my hormones were really out of wack....some months were almost nothing, and other months were like you described, really heavy and clotting. My timing was off, not as regular as my younger self. But now, I'm through it all, and have been in menopause for 10 years. For me, it's a great relief not to have to go through that anymore. Other than fairly mild hot flashes, it ain't so bad!:) I hope you feel better soon!
