got a call this morning that my mom's best friend passed away..also this is the lady that was my best friend growing up...her mom. So I used to refer to this woman as "mom 2".
Growing up we were very close to this family, and our mom's and dad's were very close..and us kids were always at one house or the other..always spending the night with each other..going places together..very close..and every where we moved this family followed soon after. And even at one point lived with us for about a month when they moved to the town that my family now lives in and that they live in too.
My mom always was over at her friends house every week helping her clean it, and also volunteering at the school to help her friend..every week without fail. Even when my dad and granny were dying and my mom had to be care taker to them both...my mom was still there for her friend every week..helping her out too.
This woman provided a wee bit of an income for my mom too when my mom would help her out..now mom doesn't have that of course..and is worried about what she will do..how she'll supplement her income.
So anyhow..if you feel like it today..we'd both appreciate the good thoughts/prayers.
My heart is really going out to my momma today.

Sorry to hear about your Mom's friend, for her loss and yours, too. What a wonderful tribute to a lifetime friendship like that. I'm glad you have two sisters living close to your mom. I'm sure she'll miss her a lot.

thank you all very much. I live 500 miles from my mom, so all I can do is be there through the phone for her. my sister stayed home today to be with mom.both of my sisters live in the same town as mom. So she does have support close by...for which I am grateful.

My thoughts are with you Tina. So hard to lose those who mean so much to us. Been a really rough year for lots of us.
Hold on to the good thoughts. Hopefully, you have photos (if even in your mind) from over the years to help get you through this difficult time. Your mom needs some extra hugs too, so give her one from me.

That is so sad isn't it Tina? Losing a best friend. My Aunt Glenda lost her best friend this year, they did everything together, she still talks about her all the time. Thoughts going your way for your family.
