Posted - Oct 21 2007 : 05:05:02 AM Please continue to pray for my mom. I've been up all night. Dad called yesterday morning for me to come and help him get mom dressed to take her to the hospital. She was violently sick. She couldn't walk she was so dizzy she couldn't hold her head up. We called an ambulance and they wanted to run a cat scan, but mom refused. I finally talked her into it. My sisters and brother was in the waiting room while daddy and I stayed in ER with mom. The Dr. had terrible news. The cancer has spread to her brain and there are several spots. He said we needed to call hospice and told us how sorry he was. She has been really dizzy and kind of staggering for about a week. I guess the other day when they found the lung cancer with the pet scan they didn't do her head. It was so hard seeing her so sick. We brought her back home and they gave her something for her nausea. She said her head is sore but doesnt hurt like a headache. Dad doesn't want her to know what the dr. said. Maybe he'll tell her later if she gets to feeling better. Just continue to pray please. If God don't give us a miracle I'm afraid I'm going to lose my mama very soon. I'm thankful for you all, and I'm sorry for my absence. I love you girls!!!
~~Blessings, Mikki Jo

Posted - Oct 24 2007 : 6:32:29 PM Mom is taking a very strong steroid, decadron I believe it is. It's supposed to help the swelling on her brain so she wont be so dizzy and nauseous. Please continue to pray. Her Hospice nurse came yesterday, and seems to be very nice. I love you all.

Posted - Oct 21 2007 : 2:14:52 PM Mikki, I am so sorry to hear this sad news about your Mother. It is so very hard to know you may lose her soon.Your Mama is loved so much by all of you. I know this is bringing her happiness and peace. Just know that if she passes away she will never really leave you, her love for you will remain and all the happy memories will live on through you. I pray she does not suffer and I pray that you will enjoy your time with her. Just love her every minute and make the very most of the time you have left to share. Say all the things you want her to know. Your Dad will need you and you him, thank God you have each other.
Love and Blessings to you. Mary Jane

Posted - Oct 21 2007 : 11:38:10 AM I am so sorry Mikki Jo, you and your family, and especially your sweet mama have been through so very much. I will ask for miracles to come your way. I am hoping and praying that your mama can endure with as little pain as possible. The worst day in my life was the day that I lost my mama, I hope that that day is still a ways off for you. Be strong sweetie, I know this is a terrible time for all of you. I went through this with my grandma and my great aunt and stomach cancer. They gave themselves to the lord and he took them home. Eventually we all found peace in their decision to not endure any more surgery and Chemo. On a happy note, my sweethearts cousin had several tumors and brain lesions and survived and is in much better health.
Peace and blessings be with you and your family
Wishing you joy in small things and peace in your heart
Annika
