My sweet Uncle Neil, who I love to death, is having yet another sinus surgery today. But this one is very serious. They have done countless ones, but now they are actually removing his upper sinus's all together. They then fill the cavity with fat from his butt (yes, we have all informed him he will be a true "butt head". LOL!) After that, there will still be a bit of a cavity, so they actually pull his brain foreward. Can you imagine?! Anyway, if he doesn't do this, his sinus's are so messed up that they told him cerebrial spinal fluid would actually leak out and kill him.

Having had two sinus surgeries this summer and still dealing with fevers almost everyday and headaches daily, I have no intention of doing another sinus surgery. For him, the surgeries only got more intense each time and now, at 70 years old, this one is life-threatening. Had he not had some of the other surgeries, this one wouldn't be a "must" but there are actually cavities for the fluid to leak from that were caused by other surgeries.

Anyway, his surgery is at 11:30 this morning and he really could use some true prayer. He is the funnest man I know and I would hate to lose him.

Hugs & blessings,

Brenda

Hi everyone! Thanks for your kind words, prayers and well wishes. My uncle is doing well. They actually ended up taking fat from his abdomen instead of his butt, so belly head just doesn't have the same ring to it does it?! He will be in ICU for 48 hours, but everything looks good. They said the level of infection he had was beyond any they had seen and that his surgery was a real "teaching" surgery for them. Thanks again for your kind words!

Hugs & blessings,

Brenda

Brenda, praying for you and your funny uncle! Let us know how the surgery went. Humor is the best medicine so Mr. BH should be up and around in no time! Too funny! Hugs, Nance

Brenda,
Wow, I thought my sinus misery was bad....how awful for your uncle to be dealing with such serious problems. I do hope he comes through safely and that your problems will soon be over too.
