Today we had to take mom back to the dr to find out the test results. They had said she had lesions on her spleen. I was totally shocked. Her spleen was clear, but she has lung cancer. They said surgery was not an option and mentioned chemo and radiation. But mom is not planning on doing anything. She's just tired and wants to be left alone, no more dr.s. I am just devastated as is my sisters and my father, moms sisters. She is such a big part of my life. Please pray for a miracle, or rather let us pray for Gods will to be done. I'm a mess, and I need to be strong for her and my younger sisters and my brother and my daddy. I'll go for now and hopefully will check in soon. Blessings to you all and thanks for all you've done! You are such a comfort as my recent days have been so dark.

~~Blessings, Mikki Jo

Praying for you all Mikki

I second the use of the Bach Flower Essences for emotional/stressful times. It is wonderful to have a non-addictive source of calming. We use it here a lot.

Mikki Jo,

I have just recently joined the farmgirls, but when I read your posting, it made me sad, and I hope that you will feel comforted. There is a part of a poem by William Wordsworth, that I have always found to be a source of strength to me in my little spots of adversity. It goes like this.."There is a strength in the power of love, 'twill make a thing seem bearable, that else would overset the brain and break the heart."

God bless and keep you and your Mummy and the rest of your family,

with love, Cilla

Also, OLIVE is giving physical and moral strengh when in need, works well for agging people who become frail. Maybe would be good for your Mom. Read on the web page, they explain what each essence is doing and on what sort of emotion they act and help balance, if one "speaks" to you, go for it.

Mikki, here is the web site.
http://www.herbalremedies.com/bacflowes.html?source=google&gclid=CP_7m9H3jo8CFQ9PMAodd1FWVw
But you can find them in Health stores. Each vial is about 14 $, but it is really worth it.
Let me know if I can help you more here.
Blessings,

Praying for God to comfort all of you, bring you the strength you need for each day, and the love to guide you in your care of your mom.

I am not sre how advanced your mom's lung cancer is, but I have heard of miracles with chemo and radiation for this.

Mikki, I am so sorry to hear all that your dear mom has been through and all the worries you carry for your family.
Bach Flower Remedies have a wonderfull product named "RESCUE REMEDY' which helps go through all sort of emotional distraught. It is made with flower essences. Maybe having each member of your family carrying their own little vial would help. They also have one named STAR OF BETHLEEM which is good when we need to surender to an higher power, maybe this one would help your mom more specificaly ?
I use the Bach flowers a lot and they have been a wonderfull help for all of us, human and animals.
You and your family are in my prayers, hugsssssss.

Your encouragement means the world to me. The cancer I've found out today is in the top and bottom lobe of her left lung. You see, this is her 4th bout with cancer. Her right lung is gone and she's had cancer removed twice from her neck, which was not even the same type of cancer she'd had in her lung. The top lobe of her lung the cancer is more than likely grown into the arteries of her heart. This is one reason the dr. said its inoperable. She's tired, and she's been thru so much in the past with her radiation treatments. She said said she's just going to lay down at the feet of her Saviour, her life is in her hands. I definitely wont sway her in any way. I just want to be strong for her, and my two younger sisters, and my older brother is the biggest baby of us all, "smile". So I am trying to be positive and strong for them, and then go hide and fall apart for awhile. My mom is such a sweet gentle soul, and a strong Christian woman. We spoke last night and she's looking forward to the day God takes her home. But she has such a strong personality, she's the foundation of our home. I am so distraught, and am ashamed to say I had to go to the dr today to get some nerve pills just to help me quit crying. Please know your prayers mean so much and I have complete confidence in each prayer that is given to our Lord. I feel like I'm talking in circles. I love you all so much. I don't know what I'd do without each and everyone of you. Thanks from the bottom of my heart.

Mikki, I am sending comfort, healing and love to your whole family. Don't worry about saying the right things to God to get help. She understands. The important thing is just asking Her into your life. She'll do the rest.

Mikki,
I am so sorry that you are going through this. I pray that God's peace will be present for each of you as you deal with this. It is hard to understand why these things happen, but I know the only way I can make it through these valleys is by staying close to God and my family.

Praying the Lord will heal her - either with a miracle or by being in His presence! A friend of ours recently died from pancreatic cancer and I wonder sometimes if it's worth the nastiness of chemo or if it's better to live your last few months clearly and with dignity?! hard choice to make but it's her choice not yours and I hope that you and your siblings will honor her in that. That being said perhaps she would be willing to try alternative meds? Alkalizing the body through diet, herbs, etc..... much less invasive, tiring and sickening.... just a thought.

As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord!

Mikki,
I am so sorry to hear the bad news about your Mom. If there is a real chance that the treatments could help her maybe she will change her mind after the initial shock wears off. If not, then honor her choice and just love her. I will pray for your Mom and you and your family.I have lost many family members and it is never easy, no matter what the situation. We are all here for you. I have missed you on the site here. I thought it must be your Mom. Please take care of yourself as well.
