Posted - Sep 25 2007 : 08:40:12 AM Prayers for me please. I went to the ER last night, the first time I'd ever been in the hospital for myself so it was quite scary. Last week I was put on a low dose of high blood pressure medication. Yesterday, shortly after I took the blood pressure meds, I started to feel weak and a little light headed and I could feel that my heart rate was slowing, then later in the evening I started to feel kind of a fluttering in my chest on and off so I said something to my boss, I'm a nanny, and he took me into the ER. They didn't find anything wrong, all the blood and urine tests came back normal which is a mixed blessing to me because I don't like not knowing what's going on but it's good to know that it didn't seem to be anything major last night. I've got an appt with my dr tomorrow morning so we'll see what she has to say. I'm trying to keep myself calm but as I said it's just not easy not knowing what's going on and I apparently inherited some of my worrying from my grandma. I appreciate all of the prayers and good thoughts you ladies could send my way!

Posted - Sep 26 2007 : 08:12:29 AM Good news! My blood pressure was normal today and I've not been taking the meds since my spell on Monday so apparently my pressure is a-okay. My dr. said it could have been a virus in my system that caused it to be raised last Thursday but she was very happy to report that it's normal now and I'm feeling much better today. Still a little eh but I've got an appointment with my naturopath on Friday so hopefully she can get me straightened back out and on the road to better health. I'm a little irritated at the dr and myself because I should have known better than to just start taking meds like that without trying to get it lowered with diet and exercise and now that I think about it I'm a little surprised that she put me on it so quickly. But what's done is done and I'm moving forward now.
So thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the thoughts, prayers and supportive words! You ladies are the best!

Posted - Sep 25 2007 : 09:29:51 AM Elizabeth, it was smart to go get checked out. I have been on and off BP meds for a bunch of years and it sounds to me like, it might be making your BP a bit low. These meds can take some time for you to adjust to. You are in my thoughts, please let us all know how things turn out.

Posted - Sep 25 2007 : 09:09:07 AM Hey, Elizabeth! Also sending prayers and hugs to you. Maybe the BP dosage just needs to be adjusted. At any rate, kick back and relax tonight, have some tea and do your favorite thing, knit, read, listen to music and tomorrow will be a new day and you will get some answers from the doctor. Keep us informed. Hugs, Nance |
