Posted - Aug 09 2014 : 6:38:42 PM I have a recipe for jewel weed soap that calls for the stems from the jewel weed plant. not to sound stupid but is it referring to the small part that the stem hooks on to or the large part that is the center stalk.? it says 20 - 30 pieces. Has any one made it before?
Thank you Danyel farmgirl sister 4202 |

Posted - Apr 09 2015 : 5:19:35 PM Thank you Susan, I have not been on in a while and was looking to see what all I have missed, I will be making some when the weather changes and growing season is here. Last year we just used the plant itself but, now I will make the soap. I can hardly wait!

Posted - Mar 10 2015 : 5:51:35 PM Hi Danyel, I make jewelweed soap too. The recipe is calling for the large stems and center stalk. The healing part of jewelweed is the aloe-like substance within the stems and stalk. :) I boil the stems, stalks and leaves together to extract as much of the substance as possible.
