Does any one have any ideas of a safe treatment for planter warts? I need an everyday remedy and one that is Ok to use if you are pregnant. My daughter deals with them frequently and they keep coming back even with the treatment from the foot doctor. We heard that even if they are surgically removed they come back. They sure are stubborn!

Plantar warts are on the bottom of the feet right? I have some I need to get rid of, I will try that.

I was going to suggest the duct tape thing. I have gotten rid of them by using the pads from the Dr's that say 40% on them. It is the same stuff you get at the store but it is stronger. the 40% is that salycilic acid. That has worked for me with good results..

We have used the duct tape treatment successfully. Two others that have worked for us is to tape a piece of raw garlic over it for 24 hours, or to soak a cotton ball or piece of gauze with apple cider vinegar (the good stuff with the mother in it) and tape it on there for 24 hours. Within a week or two of doing this, the wart turns black, dies, and falls off. We have not had them come back after doing any of these.

So here is a crazy one that worked great for me. Cover the wart with duct tape. Just enough to cover the wart ( it was a little rough on the rest of my skin after awhile). Then leave it for six days. On the seventh take the tape off and scrape all the dead skin off. Let it air out and dry for the day then reapply the duct tape the next day and repeat until gone. I have gotten five to go away virtually pain free, except the scraping if you are too vigorous. It took around 4-6 weeks per wart but worked and they haven't come back for 4-5 years. My doctor told me about it and said he has equal success between it and liquid nitrogen. Good luck.

My husband had planters warts for years. He tried everything even a specialist. The best thingh he used is MSN cream from Grace Harbor Farms in Custer Washington. The web site is www.naturallygentle.com. The cream really works it took a few months but he has no more planter warts and no more pain. He used it every night.

Ugh....I hate them! So sorry your daughter has to deal with this issue. I have had the best luck by far with liquid nitrogen. I did have to have a couple of big ones removed and they have never returned. If you can start treating them when they are really small tea tree oil on a round bandage morning and evening sometimes works. You can also use pieces of salycilic acid pad (available at the drug store) to soften the skin and then sand the area down with a stone once a day but it takes a long time and can be painful. Marie's method is intruguing but I am allergic to castor oil so I've never tried it, but I have heard of it or something similar with lemon juice. Good luck!

Yes, please let me know. I got the protocol from New Choices in Natural Healing edited by Bill Gottlieb. It has ailments in alphabetical order and uses a variety of methods to heal: acupressure, aromatherapy, ayurveda, flower/essence, food herbal, homeopathy, hydrotherapy, imagery, juice, massage, reflexology, relaxation/meditation, sound, vitamin/mineral and yoga therapies. I totally recomend this book or one like it.

You can try having them frozen with liquid nitrogen. A doctor can do that. It worked well for me. The nitrogen stays on the surface of the skin.
I do know a more natural remedy. It takes some work and time however.
1) In the morning, crush up a vitamin A tablet and add a little water to make a paste. Spread this on the wart and cover it.
2) In the afternoon, place castor oil on the wart and cover.
3) In the evening, place lemon juice on the wart and cover.
It took 10 days of continuous treatment to remove a wart I had on my finger. I treated the area for a couple extra days to make certain it was gone.
Why this works? Vitamin A is useful for getting rid of the virus which causes warts. Your daughter may want to also consider eating foods high in vitamin A such as kale and cantolope. Castor oil softens the skin and lemon juice is acidic.
