Can I use lavender EO on my grandchildren? I suggested it to prevent bruising when my granddaughter fell, and my d-inlaw said you cannot use it on children. Is that correct?? I know first hand how great it is- to stop the pain, and swelling and bruising. What do you girls know about this?? Thanks so much for everyone's input. I just LOVE this site!!!!!

I was wondering if anyone knew if their EO's are diluted or not. I think someone here must have told me about them. Their prices were the most reasonable.

Easy way to check to see if your EOs are diluted or or tainted with chemical fragrance or synthetics is...Place a drop on a piece of white paper if it leaves a mark after it has evaporated it either has a carrier in it or some other substance in it. All EOs are not the same, But their labels would like us to think so....

NOW is diluted. You can call and ask and be persistent because sometimes they will say no, but if you dig, they will admit to it.

Laurie, thank you for your post. I did not know that some EO's were diluted with oil already. Now that I think of it, original EO would not be oily. So thanks for that. Mine seems oily, so I guess I would not have to worry. The brand of EO that I have is NOW.

By the way, depending on what brand you buy, the EO may already be diluted in a carrier oil, but they don't have to tell you. A good EO will not feel oily. If it does it is already diluted.

Lavender EO and Chamomile EO are the two safe for kids. If you have any concerns or just want to be cautious, you can dilute in a carrier oil, but it really isn't needed. I wouldn't bother with water as it does not like to absorb the oil unless you dilute in milk first (good bath recipe by the way for relaxing them).

I would check www.everythingessential.me. It says generally that lavender EO is safe for kids. Of course, if you have reservations, you can always dilute with a carrier oil or water.

I've been using it full strength for years on my children...no ill effects I can tell.
My children ask for it!
Lavender oil for bug bites all the time!
We use eucalyptus oil full strength for owies...again they ask for it.

A couple of Lavendar drops in a carrier oil is okay to use topically on kids. Either apricot kernal oil, coconut, olive, etc. I wouldn't use it neat (full strength).
I use arnica gel, but not on open skin. Internal Arnia homeopathics for "trauma," has been very helpful as well.
