I have Lyme disease and think that it has caused kidney issues. Has anyone had luck treating this with herbs, or at least slowed the process down? What books, internet sites have accurate and excellent info on this topic?

Herbs to look for would be ones to support the immune system. Nano silver I think would be fantastic, but also look at garlic, golden seal, THIM-J (a formula from NSP), echinacea, beta glucans. An excellent book (as recommended by several holistic practitioners, I have never read it myself) http://www.amazon.com/Healing-Lyme-Prevention-Borreliosis-Coinfections/dp/0970869630
For kidney issues burdock, cornsilk, cranberry & buchu, damiana, horsetail, dandelion, juniper berries, stinging nettles and there are a few formulas from NSP for kidneys that are really awesome too. Just be careful with the kidney issues as you don't want to irritate them, but support and nourish them.

I will pray for you Kem, hugs. It looks like noone has many ideas so far. I think a vegetarian or close to diet might help. The reason I say that is because I took care of a little toddler years ago that had kidney problems and he wasn't supposed to have meat cause it was too much protein to go through his kidneys easily. But beans have protein too, and people need protein. But maybe meat protein is more difficult for the kidney to handle? I really don't know. Maybe some of the blood cleansing herbs like milk thistle or burdock would be good. I have liver problems and those are the best herbs for that. Also dandelion tea. But you probably want to check it out first concerning the kidneys.
