I only have a VERY mild case but I have noticed a difference since taking a b-complex regularly. Hope you find something that works...

I'm struggling with it myself. I've been prescribed Metronidazole cream which I've only been using a few days. I can't see any cure, but it hasn't further irritated it like the other two prescribed creams did. I use an organic goat's milk soap to cleanse and it's been great. I have identified two triggers - heat (which is really funny considering I live in humidity/heat laden South Arkansas) and tomatoes. I was diagnosed as a child with food allergies, one of them being tomatoes, but I could see no effect if I ate them or not. Now they are plentiful (and my favorite summer food) I see an immediate flare after eating tomatoes or tomatoe based dishes. Needless to say, I'm having to modify my diet...no spaghetti, salsa, casseroles, chili (basically everything I eat.) However, I will be looking into the suggestions listed. I hope you find some relief. I haven't gotten to that point yet...

I use a product called Prosecea. You can find it all Walgreens (in the band-aid section) I have used it for years. Cost about $10 a tube, but lasts a loooong time. It has made a HUGE difference in my rosecea.

Good Luck

One of my favorite sources for medical information on the web is MedLine Plus, run byt the National Library of Medicine. It acts as a vetted portal to other medical sources of information on the web and even includes a medical dictionary. Here's the URL for the rosacea entry: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/rosacea.html. While I've found it to be great site to visit both before and after a trip to the doctor, its focus tends to be on traditional medicine and not natural remedies---although there is a very useful feature in the database that includes links to medical trials being conducted on a given problem across the country.

Here are a few kitchen remedies you can try:

~ Green Tea. Green tea is recommended for treating all sorts of conditions, including rosacea. While drinking it helps, you can get more high powered treatment by applying the tea directly to your skin. Simply steep in hot water for 5min, let tea cool, and apply as a compress with a cotton round.

~ B Vitamins. Some studies have shown that rosacea symptoms can be correlated to a deficiency of riboflavin, a type or B vitamin.

~ Apple Cider Vinegar. This has been touted as a natural cure to almost any skin issue along with other illnesses. Many doctors believe that rosacea symptoms may actually be caused by a digestive disorder. Try drinking a glass of water with a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in it to aid digestion and ease symptoms.

Diana, I have Rosacea and the best treatment I've found is acupuncture. My skin is sensitive to most lotions, creams and cosmetics so the meds the doctor prescribed always irritated my skin and made it even redder. Since going to acupuncture I've been symptom free for about two years now.

Cheers! ~ Marilyn

aloe vera might help. I've read that there is a possible link with candida, so using something for yeast may help.
