People pay a lot of money for them, but I'm not looking to make a profit. I just want to be able to recreate them. Has anyone succeeded in making Lush-inspired soaps?

Making your own soap is fairly easy. It's not as pretty as the melt and pour but it's much better soap. I stick to all natural essential oils in my soaps and find that I can make some wonderful fragrances. Last year we made peppermint vanilla soap that was so wonderful - my mother stole most of the bars (we made it at her house - bad mistake ;). I get my oils from sfherb.com because they are so inexpensive.

If you learn to make soap, you will learn to hate Lush lol. They aren't very good quality, and they are met and pour. Good old fashioned cold processed soaps are much nicer ont he skin and have fewer dangerous chemicals!

Well hi cvezzo. I'm a lush addict as well, and am involved in their forum and whatnot. There's a few "Dupes" out there as far as scent oils go. You could try daystar. Here's their dupe list:

There's more info on that thread. Good luck!

What is it that you are trying to recreate? They have several soaps. I get our soap from a friend who makes them the old fashioned way :). She is very well informed about LUSH, so maybe I can get info for you.
