You can substitute pretty much any skin herb for the tinture and/or oil. Chamomile/calendula is an excellent blend.
Lemon Balm Cream
100 ml infused oil (preferably olive but also works well with almond)
25 grams beeswax
25 grams palm oil
50 ml lemon balm tincture
warm oil with beeswax and palm oil, just until beeswax is melted. SLOWLY add tincture and whisk until cooled. Press into round containers.
you can add a few drops of poplar bud oil or benzoin to keep it longer. chances are you won't need to, as this cream is lovely and you'll use it quick. You can also add essential oils just before it's completely done. Enjoy!

Just wondering if anyone knows if it would be alright to use rosemary anti oxidant as a preservative in this recipe?

sorry not to have replied sooner, i was away for all of September and this is my first time back here. to make the ticture, i use fresh lemon balm, chopped and decent quality vodka. cover it well, shake it every day. after about a month, strain it. for the oil, i use EVOO, a little warmed and pour it over the chopped leaves. you have to be a bit more careful with oil, due to mold, but if you shake it and keep the herb covered you should be ok. if you have poplar bud, you can make an oil and add a couple of drops to other oils as a preservative. or just drop a bud into your oil. it makes the oil darker if you do it that way. smells wonderful and poplar is very good anti-inflammatory. i just strained my calendulas and am ready to make calendula cream for winter chapped skin. a friend gave me about a bushel of lavender so plan to experiment with a cream out of that. i'll let y'all know how it turns out.
