Lovage and Shinleaf ( Waxflower shinleaf) for my herb garden!! I am so excited!! I have wanted lovage for awhile now. . . needed to look up the other one. My herb garden is slowly coming together and that is so exciting!! With any luck, the process of turning over the garden soil will begin soon.

Hi Marly! As you get to know your herbs, you will be amazed at the abundance of wild herbs! One thing that is super fun to do, find an old homestead. . . the house, barn etc long gone. . . then walk through the area. . . keep watch and you will find what herbs were grown at that homestead. Keep a map of these areas and you will be able to harvest from them ( land owner permission may be needed)

Thanks for the information Joanna. I'm reading a lot about herbs. There are really an abundance of herbs. I like to watch the Veria channel on TV, they talk about herbs and cook with herbs, etc....

Okay, Lovage is like celery. . grows well and tastes great! Since I am allergic to onions, I use lots of lovage in place of it. Shinleaf is a new one for me too. . it is used to heal bruising and I will need to do more reading up on it for all of its good properties and what parts to use.

One thing I love about herbs is there versatility. Whether they are for medicinal use, cooking or crafting. . . they are always a delight!

Hi Joanna:
What exactly is lovage and shinleaf? I'm just getting into herbs. So, I don't really know too much about most of them. LOL. I have rosemary and lavender planted.
