Posted - Aug 16 2008 : 6:25:47 PM I always seem to have a case of baby blues after giving birth and this time my midwife suggested taking fish oil to combat that. Guess what? My baby is three months old now and I have felt better then I have in a long time. So I would suggest fish oil caspsules. I've read that it helps a lot for minor cases of depression, or the blues. Give it a couple weeks to start working. -Elizabeth |

Posted - Aug 16 2008 : 11:37:56 AM First off get a general check up and bloodwork to be sure you are okay! That is very important as things such as thyroid issues and menopause can cause depression. Is this a emotional time of year for you? Did you lose someone close to you this time of year? I lost my mom, dad and sister in the summer months so especially July/August are hard months for me. Herbally, I tout that Lemon Balm is wonderful! I make a tincture out of it and take it either with honey or on a cube of sugar, it tastes wonderful. You have to be careful with some of the other herbs if you are on medication or have a specific medical condition - Do you? I can recommend more for you too! Kathy of the Enchanted Wood

Posted - Aug 14 2008 : 11:26:47 AM Jess: Are you getting enough sunshine (Vit D)? I've found if I don't get some sun I get super sad. I hate the feeling of sadness. It is tiring! Hope you feel better soon. Marly |
