Hmm...I've been fighting this "whatever it is" and haven't been able to decide what to make of it. The main things I Notice are burning when I potty and lower back pain that comes and goes (comes mostly at night).
I drink a lot of soda and I know that is terrible bad for me, but some habits die hard.
So, here's the thing. How do I know the difference and I would like to know some natural (non-dr. referring thoughts) on how to cure this myself.
If I drink water it seems to ease it, but not for long.
I'd appreciate your thoughts and input. :)
thanks
Jessie

HI Everyone
I am not sure why my active list is not pulling this up recently. I just assumed everyone was not posting here. but so wrong was I! :) The "whatever it is" is clearing up with the cranberry and garlic. I couldn't find echinacea so I wasn't able to give that a try. I've sworn off sugars for a bit and am drinking tons of water which has helped immensley. The back pain has been gone for days now and the burning sensation went to but came back after I cheated with a huge chocolate chip mint ice cream cone last night. Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers. It is GREATLY appreciated!
hugs
Jess

Denise-- I whole heartedly agree that God has given us so much in the natural world to maintain our health. (I have a lot of it in my own yard as a matter of fact) I also strongly believe that it was HE who led me to work in the Medical field. Trust me, it was the LAST thing I ever wanted to do. I would actually find myself sitting in class thinking "God? WHAT am I doing here?" I think he wanted to show me BOTH sides of the scope. Like I said, I've seen the good doctors, I've seen the BAAAAD ones and I've seen the UGLY side of drugs and modern healthcare, but again, I've also seen the GOOD. (and honestly, there really ARE more doctors that are good than bad.

The last place I worked had 8 doctors (and I worked with them ALL) There were only 2 or 3 at the time that I would not go to PERSONALLY. The rest were VERY kind, very caring and really did have their patients best interests at heart. 1 was in it for all the money they could get, another was in it to say "Look at ME! I'M a DOCTOR!!" and the third, well, he was hit or miss. I think he got a big Head on occasion, but when things went wrong he thoroughly chastised himself for it. Sad to say though, most of the GOOD Doctor's have left that group, and God himself told ME to call it quits as well. I served his purpose and now he's taking me in a NEW direction!! (YEAH!!)

It's funny I ended up in that field because I can't take meds ANYWAY! Anesthetics are my WORST enemy-- as my poor Dentist found out a few years ago. If he were not such a CAREFUL man I would have died right there in his office. I only go in for routine cleanings and always get an EXCELLENT bill of tooth/gum health. Regular physicians, and even allergy SPECIALISTS won't even touch me. Good thing I have been declared "DISGUSTINGLY HEALTHY" in the words of one Doctor I've seen. I HAVE to stay healthy, I have no other choice! And, I think God takes care of me in that department too. That's why he also steers ME tword the natural cures! It's the only thing guaranteed not to KILL ME!!!

Hope you are feeling better Jess! Sounds like you have a GREAT mamma who knows what's going on and knows how to deal with it. Hugs ~~~ Tracy

PS I never knew about the Alka Seltzer Cristine. I'll have to look that up. Thanks!

I use to get both very badly. The quickest thing for me was drinking tons of water and taking a bath as hot as was comfortable with a full container of salt mixed in and just soak. May sound silly but it worked every time!! So it might be worth a try!! I have connective tissue disorder and fibro so UTI'S are very common and a constant threat... works great for me! Hope it helps!

Hugz!
Talitha

PS cranberry helps too ... but the hot salt bath and drinking water was the best!

There is something in AlkaSeltzer that will detach the bacteria from the walls of the bladder, etc. I used to get a UTI once a month and had to find a more affordable cure. I found it online in a british health report. Of course with a lot of water, if it's bad you may have to do this twice as described on the Alka seltzer box.

Hi all,
I think Jess might be getting over this. Not sure when she was on here last but I know she has been drinking lots of water and taking the cranberry capsules. BTW, I'm mom to her. We have a long history of this in the women in our family. I cure mine with pure cranberry juice and 1 tbsp of lemon juice in a tall glass of lukewarm water. sounds nasty but it is the quickest thing to use to get rid of the pain. God did give us doctors but I think if we can use what he gave us naturally then we should try that but if it gets to where what we are doing is not working then we need their help. I think God gives us what we need to live healthy lives we just need to seek out the wisdom. If you read this thread again Jess, hope you're feeling better.

Oh, and God made Doctors too! The best ones HE chose for the feild! I know, because my last doc I worked with was one of those! He is just the SWEETEST, KINDEST most INTUITIVE doc I've ever worked with!!! I was so blessed to get to work with him and my front office pal. (I worked back office--I got to stick the NEEDLES in people-- he..he..he!!!)

It seems all it takes is for one bad experience to turn people off of docotrs, but don't let that fear keep you from seeing one. There are SO MANY good ones out there. It's best to go with a younger one that does not have a reputaion for being an "Ego-maniac." Some of them get big heads, that's for sure, but nowdays they are taught BED SIDE MANNERS!! (Unlike the "OLD SCHOOL" doctors. I've worked with those old GRUMPS too!) Please go see one. God wants you to be healthy, not suffering, and if the cranberry juice and the other tips the ladies gave you are not working, it's what HE would want you to do to get back on track and feeling good. Hugs~~~ Tracy

Oh Jessie! If it truly IS a UTI, it can cause SERIOUS trouble if not treated right away. A UTI leads to kidney infection which is a NASTY thing and can land you in the hospital if it goes too long without treatment. I know this for a fact since I've worked on/off in the medical field as an MA for over 14yrs.

A Urinary Analysis test is completely painless. All they will do is have you pee in a cup, then test it with a urinary dipstick and, if it reads positive, give you a few pills to take for about a week or so. You don't have to get naked, but the doc might want to poke and prod your stomach a bit. Whatever you do-- do NOT use the over the counter pills for "treating" UTI's. (can't remember the names off hand-- is Azo one? I think the other one is called Pyridium(?) They will make it impossible to read a UA test since it changes all the colors on the testing strip.

If this has been going on for months, PLEASE go to the doctor, or even a local clinic to get tested. And remember, not ALL doctor's SUCK. (unfortunately, I've worked with a few of THOSE over the years! But many doctors are VERY kind and concerned for their patients, and are very good at their job. Sorry you had such a bad experience, but please don't let that stop you from getting treatment if need be. Hugs, Hugs, HUGS ~~~ Tracy

Hi Ladies,
I went and got the cranberry capsules and some garlic. I was busy all day and didn't get a chance to take the cranberry until tonight. I took 1000mg cranberry and 1200mg garlic. I am hoping that it kicks this quick. I hate having utis and what nots. I have been fighting it for months. My last "dr experience" was traumatic and I want to avoid them as much as possible and I have to believe God gave us the good things to cure whatever our problem might be.
I appreciate your input AND YOUR PRAYERS!
hugs Jess

All the above mentioned are great, absoulutely but in addition to the honey, water and pure cranberry juice if you can find dandelion tea that should help too. I needed to put some honey in to get that down...LOL. Hope you get to feeling better soon!

the caffeine and soda will make it worse. drink water, lots and lots of water..and it sounds like a combination uti and slight kidney infection.
I'd suggest seeing your dr.
kidneys are nothing to play with.

Julie hit that nail on the head. Lots of honey wouldn't hurt. I try to eat at least a TBSP a day. Not only is it good for you, it makes you just a bit sweeter in the process.

pure cranberry juice is great (not that cranberry juice coctail stuff) I'm talking very potent pure cranberry. You can also get cranberry pills at many healthfood stores. Quit the sodas(at least until it clears) and drink lots of watwer. A detox soup like a leek soup for a full day or so is also helpful. Also avoid any refined sugar for a few days.
