I am so excited! My Kombucha SCOBY baby in the mail yesterday and I started up a batch of Kombucha tea! mmm! I can hardly wait for the week to ten days for the tea to brew completely! It has so many health benefits and I think it tastes yummy too!

Does anyone here have some I could buy from? I'd rather get it from ya'll, that way I know it will be good.

Also, Lydia, I noticed you do kefir too. Do you have a good source for that? I'd love to make my own as I will be milking goats soon and will have tons of milk. Thanks.

Kris

Alee, try again. It does work and tastes great. I have been brewing for a few years now and have been known to give away scobies. Just save the baby from your next batch in some apple cider vinegar for future use ( in the frig covered)

It is so neat to find other people who do "weird" things like me. I killed my kombucha though. I left it for a week brewing and when I came home it had mold on the new layer. It never worked again. I am going to have to buy some more. I also do kefir but I liked kombucha a lot better.

Where did you buy your maker? What brand? I would love to try this. My health is still a little "off" so I want to try something that sounds so healthy.

Lisa-

yes, we brew about a gallon a week, Every Sunday is when it matures for us and I start a new batch :D Doug and I will drink between 4-8 ounces a day. We both feel much healthier when we are drinking it and it gives our emotions a boost as well. It might sound silly but I just feel "better" all around when drinking it.

Kombucha is a tea based drink that has lots of great health benefits. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kombucha

Depending on how you brew it, how much sugar you use, and how long you let it brew, it can have different tastes. But usually it tastes like a tangy apple cider. :D
