If you make hand lotions, creams, and sugar scrubs for sale, are there government regulations you have to follow? I know you have to collect sales tax if the sales are over a certain amount but what about regulations for the ingredients? Thanks for any information you can share. Sage :)

Nope! I got waaaaay lost doing the search on the internet so never did pin point the information. The end of the month is very hectic at work with sending out statements and I haven't gotten back to finish the task. Thanks for asking. Sage :)

Sage, did you figure out what you need? I know the bureaucracy can be atrocious sometimes....

Thanks, I really appreciate the information. I'd rather be informed and take the time to start out right than to try fix a problem later. Where would I find a copy of your magazine?

PS not to "toot my own horn" so to speak, but if you can find the last issue of Herb Quarterly magazine I did write an article about starting your own herb business which has some useful info and links if you are jsut starting out. :)

Hi Sage! Yes, you will be under the jurisdiction of the FDA. There's tons of information online - manuafacturing practices, labelling rules, etc. I have always found it easiest to get on the phone and start calling if you have any questions...they can direct you to the information you need to know.
