I was just wondering if there would be any more recipe/projects of the week additions? I sure am missing them. Thanks to all of you.

Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Hey Lisa!
Thanks for the question. It's difficult to obtain an official 501(c)3 non-profit status from the IRS (lots of paperwork!). You are totally fine calling yourself a MaryJanesFarm FARMGIRL CHAPTER for any of your events/meetings and in local publicity. (Give us a call, we're happy to send extra brochures, etc.) You can still accept local donations and create promotional events to give back to your community. Being an official non-profit is not necessary to accept donations unless the person giving you donations wants them to be tax deductible.

You have our blessing and best wishes. Let us know if we can help in any way.

Lisa- each chapter is an autonomous organization so if you needed to do anything for fundraising and tax purposes you would have to fullfil the non-profit requirements for your local chapter.

Hello MJ Staff :)

I'm the chapter leader for NW Country Angels in Arlington Washington. We are looking into renting a facility for the purpose of running a holiday craft fair. One of the questions on the applications asked is; are we a non-profit organization. Do I need to establish our chapter as a non profit organization or do we fall under the MJ Farmgirl umbrella somehow? Our hope is that we can open a club bank account and begin to raise some funds for the purpose of putting back into our local communities.

Thank you
Lisa (Elkaye)
