Buggy, Barter & Boogie

Friday July 3rd, 2009
From 7-9 p.m. we will enjoy 1920's theme music in the mall in Coeur'd Alene where we have the MaryJanesfarm store and shop. The other stores in the mall will be staying open late just to meet you... We are working on a fun little "game and you will enjoy meeting some of the artists that provide "hand crafted items" for the store. MaryJane will be on hand to sign her books.

Here is a little teaser of the store:

Saturday July 4th

Carpool down the Palouse taking in the breathe taking views of the "rolling hills", have old fashion photos taken, take in antique stores, quilting stores, meet locals, listen to live music, enjoy art, museums, old cars and antique farming equipment. Stop and drink homemade Ice Tea and Lemonade while strolling through beautiful farm gardens, and once you arrive in Oakesdale; tour the old mill, eat, play old fashion fourth of July games, watch children enjoy having their face painted and ride the ponies....As the day winds down, stick around for a community firework display....

Sunday July 5th

Enjoy Lunch at Settler's Creek a beautiful organic farm nestled in the trees in the Coeur d’Alene hills. Walk around and "shop" with vendors that are exclusive to Coeur d 'Alene, listen to live music and enjoy the "tale's" from a very special guest speaker....( there is a $30 fee for this event and seating is limited, so "get it while they are hot".............For tickets:

And don't forget to register for the weekend-

As the pre-summer sun breaks through each day, the folks here in Coeur d'Alene start to feel the energy and excitement of the warm weather! I have been on the phone all week with local and regional growers, craftsmen/women and artisans that are looking forward to sharing their hometown with each and every one of you coming for Farm Fair this July!

If you have not yet registered for the weekend's fun, waste no time in doing so!

HI Judy,
I am just getting some more finalized things to the farm, so they will add more soon. But here the answers. YES there is a darling park there in Oakesdale where people can picnic, as well as at the Mill in the lawn area. There will be guided tours of the Mill and that information will be forth-coming on the farm fair page on the website. Just keep watching the site and we will add as things are confirmed... thanks for asking Judy, keep the questions coming and I will do my best to answer them.

Hi Rene,
I have another question now...is there a park in Oakesdale where we could have a picnic? I tried to look on the MJF website to see if there were more details of what's happening in Oakesdale, but couldn't find anything. Also, will the Flour Mill be open for tours? If all this info is someplace, please point me in the direction. Thanks! Judy

Rene,

Can you tell me the schedule for Saturday at Oakesdale? How late will the booths be open? I know it says to stay for the fireworks, but what about the vendors and any food vendors? I have a commitment in the morning and wonder if it would be worth it to drive down and arrive at about 3:00 pm on Saturday, or if the vendors will be closing up shop by then?

Thanks for your help. Judy

Rene, Do I need to register if I'm local and only going to the Fair on Oakesdale?

I also want to plug my mom's store in Garfield, WA (just 9 miles south of Oakesdale) at it's Grand Opening... called "Once in a While". It is a local artisan and antique store located right on the highway as you enter Garfield. But we'll also be at the Farm Fair, so we look forward to seeing all of you!

Carrie,
We cant wait for you and the other farmgirls to arrive..... Chelsey we wont have a stop at the farm, however we will be spending the day at the old Flour Mill which is the farms, and on the Palouse which will give everyone a feel for the area... The last FarmFair on that farm really proved that "we" had out grown the farm as a location as we had so many people, and being that the farm is truly a working farm, it is hard to still farm and have lots and lots of people there.. We hope that this will be a balance of the two things" both experiencing the farm with out actually interfering with the daily oppertations of the farm. We promise you wont be disappointed.

Rene - do vendors need to register?

Alee Posted - Apr 13 2009 : 07:43:04 AM
Chelsey- I don't think so. In years past MaryJane has hosted it at the Farm itself and it was really hard on the land to have so many people there. The year I was able to go out, they had to use one of the fields as parking for the fair itself and the booths and everything were also on a field. I think that must be very hard on the land.
